My father was treated in Aug - Sept 1997. He was a Gleason 6 and had Proton at Loma Linda.

His 16 year PSA test showed a PSA of .01

Cheers to my dad (Age 81) and hoping my IMRT Will knock out my recurrence.

Congratulations to you and your dad. 16 years has to make you feel pretty darn good, think it would be safe to use the "c" word, cured, for him, at least for all practical purposes.

Thanks again for all the info you provided me as I am counting down the days to my meeting with the Vanderbilt Divinci Robot and Dr Smith.

I think Dad can relax now! Question: after your PSA came in at .2, why was it 10 months before you had another one? And was there discussion about starting SRT when it came in at .2? Looks like I'm heading down that road, hence the curiosity. Thanks.

Yes when the PSA came back as .2 there was immediate discussions as to what to do.

Based on advice from Doc we decided to retest 3 months later...And it was the same at .2

So then the doctor wanted to see if perhaps the PSA would just set at that level...

But then 6 months later was .3 and decided to start the IMRT.

From your post remember that a .03 and .3 are not the same.
