I have cried tears of sadness and for peace for my forum warriors....how can we survive without our beloved one....I don't know, but hope we all, when the time comes, find "the way".....
Here is a list of our latest members, I hope name and dates are correct.....all of you are in my thoughts and prayers and will there for a long time to come.....

A poem that I like and feel that our PC Soldiers have touched the Face of God as well!

Very nice! I also think of Silverlace as a warrior and Raddad (Bud) as a PC soldier.

Beautiful poem.
This has been a really tough year. Too many men lost to such a horrific disease.
Maybe one day soon there will be a cure, I pray.

Jane, I know I have expressed my sympathy.  Just know a lot of people do care.  *HUGS*

Oh, Susan I didn't know about Ed.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Of course, I miss Bud so much.  What a good friend he was.  Things just haven't been the same with him gone.  Prayers for the caregivers.  May God comfort you.  Your husbands were so brave.

Thank you Ted, what a great tribute to our fallen brothers who touched all of us so much. They will all be missed by all of us. I suggest that at the NY GFMPH gathering in 2 weeks a moment  of silence be observed in their memory.

 

I too miss my buddy Raddad every day but his family is doing some great things to help some of our HW brothers and sisters in his memory. Bud was friends with every one in Tednsal's post.  The heart and soul of HW is still smiling down on us all.

Thank you, Sal, for this post. Ed was the warrior in this battle and he fought hard until the end.
Bud absolutely brought us together in such a special meaningful way that will continue to ripple through my life and others.

Omg, I had no idea. I thought of all of you ladies so often. Nhwife, Susan, sincere condolances, I am so surprised, somehow I had the impression from your previous posts that your hubby was struggling but that it was not so easy to stop him in his tracks. I am so sorry. Love to you and your family.
Passages, Jane, so sorry. Your man was a long-time warrior. He is probably glad to get a rest.
Your men are true heros and sooooo lucky to have you beside them. And I do not say this lightly.
Rest in peace PC warriors.
You are smiling down and giving us courage.
We hope that you return to us, ladies, when you are ready...you are such an important part of this community.

I wanted to post about raddad (Bud) as well....just didn't know as much about all of "the particulars....l knew his name but not his caregiver (daughter??)....but he was in my thoughts as well....and there are probably others....but everyone was and is in my thoughts and heart...I just felt it necessary to mention them by name and dates. Don't remember Silverlace.....so sorry.....

I would like to keep in touch with the spouses if possible...e-mail me ladies whenever you have a minute......just remember today will be the first day of your life, and don't worry about tomorrow....just get through today and tomorrow will take care of itself.

These last couple of days have been hard for me, realizing the mortality of this disease. We are sometimes in a very fragile state, but that happens and I believe it is healthy to cry and think in the world of reality. We walk a very narrow path and sometimes it's a little steeper and harder to climb....need the guiding hands of everyone else who travels this path. This forum gives us information, solace, courage, peace, understanding and faithful words of encouragement........while traveling thru PC land......

Courage my fellow PC Soldiers and Lady Warriors.....

tednsal, thanks for starting this thread. Loved the poem. It is so true. It seems we have lost so many wonderful men in such a short time. Makes my heart ache for each and every one of these families, plus the many more who are going through this who have not found this wonderful forum. I think of these surviving warrior ladies so often throughout my day. We are on a path that none of us would have chosen, but I strongly believe that we are being made stronger because of it. I hope and pray that these women stay in touch. Those of us following behind you need you more than you know!

I wanted to share one more thing. My father has recently published a book of short stories from his childhood. And in one of the stories he talks about a man who died in his village, and all the ladies came together, discussing and saying that he was a lucky man, because he had someone who can cry for him. The exact verb in my language is continuos-definite, like cry for a while and then stop crying, meaning, there was a period of sorrow that would last, but would stop. He was a lucky man to have his family go through this process. I hope all of you special ladies, can live through this, with enough strength and hope.

Bud really didnt have a caregiver, he kept a lot about his condition from his family as he never wanted to burden them. He was a caregiver of moral support for so many of the women caregivers in our forum, which is why he is so missed in here. Silverlace lost his battle with the beast last November. Again thank you for this beautiful thread remembering our fallen warriors.

Tednsal, thank you for starting this thread with your poem. So many emotions shared as another PC warrior finds final peace. Your words ..walk a narrow path, sometimes a little steeper and harder to climb... need the guiding hands ...and words of encouragement... are so true especially when one if the warriors reaches the last days on the journey.
