Its 2:20 pm. The ceremony is in 2hours and there is lots of decorating going on. All of the ladies are having a blast out there in the huge tent in the back yard. Me, I am just chillin and waiting to put my tuxedo GFMPH t shirt on. Life is good. It is beautful weather and another Bonus Day is unfolding.

I started reading this because my brother in law is very sick right now with his sx. He had his prostrate removed in January. Too late for a positive outcome, though. I sure wish he and my sister would get on this healing Well to find that there are all kinds of prostrate cancer, age, sx, labs, every one is different. And what a positive thing you do with these parties. I can feel the love in all your hearts. Have a safe journey, and definitely have fun! God bless all you all

Kind of afraid to step on the scale to weigh myself when I get home.

So far I have been able to not gain the expected weight due to Lupron, but doubt I can truthfully say I did not gain weight at GFMPH.

Good eats every meal since we got here on Wednesday.

And the comraderie of both the PCA men and their significant others is even better. My first GFMPH but definitely not my last, well worth the three day drive from Florida to meet my fellow PCa warriors and their supportive partners.

Definitely recommend you all try to attend the GFMPH in Florida March 20-24, 2014 or the GFMPH Alaska cruise in June, 2014. And if you excel at short term planning, check out the GFMPH cruise departing Louisiana the week after Thanksgiving, 2013.

Beautiful wedding ceremony for Sherry and Sonny this afternoon with Goodlife masterfully administering their wedding vows, with Jazzman's music and Bayou Jackal's singing doing a superb job on the Lord's prayer.

My Buddy Sonny is married to a wonderful lady that I have been fortunate enough to get to know better than most of the people at GFMPH. Standing with my friend as a groomsmen was such a honor.

The entire GFMPH gathering could not have been any better. With heavy hearts we will start the RV this morning and head back to Baton Rouge. Always sad to depart from such friends. Now we start looking to the Florida gathering.

We will also have Dec cruise to be with more HW friends.

I am such a lucky man.

Thanks to Mr and Mrs WG. The best host ever.

Sniff, sniff, I have read all the great reports from the gathering and I sure missed every one, but I am enjoying time with my family and scouting places to retire here in San Antonio.  smilewinkgrin  

 

I am so Happy for Sonny and Sherry, two of the best people I have ever met and I WILL NOT MISS GFMPH Florida. Dianne and I are even thinking about renting an RV for Florida so we do not miss one minute of the fun having to go back at night to a hotel. I will regret missing their wedding for some time but Florida will be here before we know it.

 

As Lupron Jim said, we have plenty of GFMPH events coming up anyone who missed NY and wants to be part of the fun. Attending any gathering whether on land or sea will change your lives forever all for the positive. The GFMPH cruise on Dec 1st from New Orleans can still be booked and we have 15 couples already booked for this first ever GFMPH cruise. Send me an email if you want more information.

Sounds like a great weekend. I am so happy for Sonny and Sherry. I will definitely make Florida next year. Happy everyone had so much fun.

It was an amazing weekend - wonderful , beautiful wedding ceremony and gorgeously decorated tent - fantastic food - great meeting - wonderful people - all part of this fantastic extended family of HW and GFMPH organizers/ founders - I am speechless.
Many thanks to Jeff and Jeff and Jeff ( the BBQ caterer/cook- who still has his prostate) and all the rest who chipped in , designed, sweated and simply put - had a wonderful time making this GFMPH Rochester an amazing event!

Wife and I want to thank Jeff & Barb for being great host and hostess! This was our third GFMPH and I always leave feeling calm and in peace afterwards kind of like after having sex ;). It was great seeing everyone and looking forward to the next one in Florida at the newlywed's home.

John and I made it back home (safe and sound but weary). I can't tell you how amazing our first GFMPH was...to meet in person so many outstanding guys and gals. For those who have never met Cajun Jeff, you have not been hugged until that guy wraps his arms around you! And a very, very special shout-out to Mr. and Mrs. WG...you guys rock big time! Thank you ever so much for opening your home and your hearts to us...we will never forget your kindness and generosity.

Witnessing the wedding of Sonny (one of my absolute favorite people) and Sherry was a treat and an honor. And Goodlife, as officiant, was just wonderful as were Jazzman's guitar and Bayou Jackal's singing...still have the soggy tissues in my purse and think I'll keep them for a while if only to remember the magic of yesterday afternoon.

Wampuscat and Ms. Worry Wart: Love you guys with all my heart, and was so thrilled to meet you both and your dear husbands.

Had the honor of meeting 142 and Peter DA...lovely, kind, and welcoming men who made John and I feel right at home.

Met two of the sweetest guys...Bronson and Steve...who entertained us, enlightened us, and added so much to our first GFMPH experience.

Cmetal and his charming wife: loved meeting you and spending time getting to know you.

So many friends made and so many memories that we'll carry for the rest of our lives. Thanks to everyone who was there for making this so special for us on so many levels.

After attending 7 GFMPH gatherings and reporting back how amazing they are, and then seeing the relatively few who attend them the next time, I am absolutely amazed. Most attenders reattend multiple tines, and I never hear one bad report, yet so many of you think we are half crazy to run off to New York, Louisiansa, and now Florida to have the the most amazing times we have ever had.

Just listen to Sephie, or Lupron Jim, first timers this year. Make your plans now, to eliminate all excuses in March. I promise you will never, ever experience anything quite like it. My life will never be the same.

I don't know why so many of you just won't listen. The GFMPH gatherings are life changing weekends.

To follow up on what Goodlife posted, anybody apprehensive about GFMPH being a b-itch and moan pity party can put that thought to rest.

Goodlife and our host Worried Guy are two of the 3 charter members. Unfortunately the third Paul could not make this one. But my point is that the attendees pretty much lived up to Goodlife's handle and all had a great time enjoying the life we have rather than dwelling on the disease we have.

Other than at the business round table (actually campfire) PCA was not discussed all that much, except in passing, probably mostly by me since I did not know the culture and custom of the group, which I am sure is fluid based on who attends each session.

If you want the perspective of a newbie and how we were so graciously welcomed without it being a click, but want to get assurances off line, just send me an email. My spouse Karen can also attest to how partners are not left in a corner.

Since I am back on line and not smart enough to use a smart phone, or more accurately too old fashioned, consider this notice that we arrived safely at our first stop, a visit with ex-neighbors from MA who now live near Richmond VA.

Off the road tomorrow and then stopping in Greenville with yet another set of ex-neighbors from CT who are now in SC.

Well we made it home I pushed the RV just short of 1400 miles in 2 days. We got to the shack at 1:47 AM. Will post tomorrow. Night all. Still smiling.

You pushed the RV 1400 miles? By my calculations that wouldn't be quite enough exercise to work off all the food that the other two Jeffs stuffed us with. If you were part of the wedding-cake-for-breakfast crowd you would have had to set the parking brake before you started pushing and you still would have gotten back to Louisiana plumper than you left it.

You know you are a madman, don't you? I mean, lots of people have parties in their gardens but who thinks to plant snapping turtle eggs in their flower beds so they can be hatching out just as the guests arrive?

Everyone else,

It was a good time. And let me echo the suggestions that readers here consider attending one of these events. If you think the moderators make a hash of things here on the forum, you ought to see what 142 and I can do with left-over barbecued brisket and some boiled potatoes.

Lurkers are welcome, too. We'll find you a quiet corner at the gathering... Ok, I'm lying there. There are a few guys who tried to lurk at GFMPH but they couldn't pull it off. They wound up sitting around the fire, telling jokes and dodging the smoke along with everyone else.

Worried Guy: The snapping turtles hatching out of their hidey hole was definitely a nice touch!

Still recuperating from the weekend but so happy we were able to join everyone.

Oh Yeah !!

Another successful GFMPH gathering, and Number 3 for us. As so many here have so eloquently stated, it was a wonderful time to see old friends, and make new ones. Worried Guy and his beautiful Mrs. are the wonderful host/hostess !!. Thanks you two for all of your planning and hard work to allow so many of us the opportunity to spend valuable time together.

We hope to be able to see many of you this next spring in Florida, which for us will be a welcome break from Idaho's long winter.

Till then, be strong, and remember .....as Sonny says.... "Every Day's a Bonus" !!

Yes! Another great GFMPH weekend, but I missed the cake for breakfast too. Peter D must travel with a fast crowd. :)

Thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Worried Guy for being such fabulous hosts. They really make everyone feel welcome and at-home. People don't get any cooler than those two!

BTW, if you want wedding cake and hash leftovers for breakfast you gotta sleep on the property or get here REAL early in the morning.
