had robotic surgery yesterday afternoon.surgeon has said it went very well. very little pain apart from stomach pain when getting up from chair and bed. Managed to wash and shower and this afternoon walking up and down corridors a few times.
mentally feel great. so relieved and happy gland out . back in three weeks for check up so lets hope for good news.

great job. that pain in your abs will get significantly better every day. Best of luck on pathology, sure it will be fine.

Happy to hear all went well.
Wishing you a full and speedy recovery mandjk, keep us posted on your progress and any worries, just ask away, plenty of surgery guys here to answer any post op questions you may have.

Thanks for your message.
Came out yesterday. Feeling tired and sore but pain is easing. relaxing as much as i can and doing a little walking round house.so far so good.
back to hospital next friday to have catheter out.

Hi Mandjk

I underwent Robotic RP on 10/15. Catheter came out in two weeks. I have done lots of walking. They say walking is good for the pelvic floor muscles which help with continence. I am still sore and not 100 percent but getting better all the time. Hang in there and best wishes for good post surgery pathology.

Hi John, welcome to the other side! What you are feeling now is the worst of it. It gets better everyday. Keep up your walking and water. The next milestones are your first BM, we usually use stool softeners to help it along and the catheter being removed.
Good luck with your Pathology report, hope they got it all.

i like to think the hardest bit is over with the op but of course there are some more hurdles to deal with yet.i am ready for them

got path report today. good news.clear margins. tnm category pT2c.gleason now down to 3+3.so contained in prostate but it was growing and caught at right time. weighed 54 grams, one month ago 44 grams.more than one tumour.
quite frightening to think that if had not had regular blood tests this would not have been found. in fact my psa was only included in blood testing last year as i complained of coughing and wheezing after heavy work(it turned out to be possible chest infection).
catheter out and now getting used to sorting bladder out.
now have to wait for good news from blood test and join zero club!!

so good to have catheter out and walk normally!! yes there is some incontinence but so far not too bad.we went out for a meal last night and so good to sit comfortably.
been for a long walk this morning and not tired as before. slowly getting there

Have read your story. So glad all is going well for you. Worry is an understatement when it comes to being DX with PCa at any stage! We're only human but, we can choose to think positive and keep an upbeat spirit.

Last Sept. 10, 2012, I started my journey with my DX and boy it sure has been a ride of my life. But, in the past few weeks, I'm finally able to come to terms with my DX and pray everyday to God that I'll be just fine.

last visit to see my surgeon last night and we went over the report and i had a check up.
He was very pleased with how the op went and believes there should be a complete cure. Had a blood test and will get psa result in 7 days. Was surprised to have a test so soon after my op as i had read you should wait 6-8 weeks. But he is the expert!!
So will wait and see.Feel alot happier and relaxed today and starting to plan ahead.
Of course the result may not be what i expect and i have to get used to regular testing and the chance it may return.

But at the moment i am nearing the end of all this nightmare. It certainly changes the way you look at life and i feel alot stronger mentally because of it all.

got my results today and i am 0.1.The perfect result.So relieved.Another success story for this messageboard.
Thank you to everyone for advice and support. I will continue to help others here wherever i can.

Hi Hummbug- thanks for your message.Everyone i see says the same thing"You look really well" I actually look the same as this time last year. But nobody told me then how well i looked!!!
I actually feel really good and strong. Its as if i have had an injection of positivity.I suppose its the whole experience and getting through it all.Certainly life changing and makes you look at life differently. We are now bringing forward plans of things we have always wanted to do.Less work and more time with friends.
Incontinence is improving all the time. Always been dry at night since op and now on one small pad per day. Only leaking occasionally.
