My da Vinci surgery was completed on 10.24.13 with good results. From what I read on this forum, my post-op is fairly typical--ups and downs but moving forward slowly. The only real issue was when the catheter was removed shortly after RP and I could not pass any urine due to swelling around the bladder. The catheter is now back in and will come out tomorrow am.
Following catheter removal, my doctor recommends taking a physical therapy session on Kegel exercises with a bio-feedback device attached to the sphincter to ensure I'm doing the procedure properly. Insurance will pay most of the expense, but not all. I think I know how to do the exercise and I am focused on working hard to get through this, but I don't want to pass up a good opportunity. Any comments/recommendations about these sessions?
