Good luck. Do not swear at the nurses when they tell you to get up and walk. They really are trying to help. Walking will make you more comfortable... eventually, as will passing wind. Glad you made it through.

Because of the time difference, you are probably without a prostate now. Don't worry, you won't miss it at all.
Good luck in your recovery. Start walking as soon as you can, each day will get better.

Prostate and seminal vesicles removed cleanly. Feeling pretty good for such trauma
Chat again soon. One more day in hospital

Don't let them toss you out until you're ready to go. I was in for four days due to issues getting around. I think that actually helped, as I would have not managed well (maybe not at all) taking care of myself at home those first days.
Glad to get your report. Progress reports are expected ;)

Glad you are feeling well! Now start that most important of activities: walking! Lot's of good things are encouraged by walking - like passing gas (freely, without bearing down) which I'm guessing you'll be looking forward to about
now - and getting everything that gets sluggish from anesthesia turned back on. Try to walk that line between pushing yourself, but not overdoing it.
We're pulling for you. Keep the updates coming.

Home now. Everything went very well, some very minor glitches, Ogden is a true super star. Longer report soon after I get some sleep.

Thanks! My prostate and seminal vesicles came out in one blob. Ogden said it was good with clean margins, but with some difficulty.
Lots of blood in urine Saturday. Friday was clear and clean, by afternoon Saturday I had mostly clear urine again. Bloody a bit again now.
I am off Casodex bicalutamide now, so they can do a scan of bones in a few weeks.
Catheter is not bad, I will probably just use the big bag all the time in a canvas bag etc (below waist level of course)
Meds seem fine, pain killers working well. Perspired like a pig last night, soaked pillow LOL
Dressings not oozing much. Passing wind since Saturday morning - that was the worst I think - wow!
I can sit up just fine, sitting at computer fine with a pillow under.
My son is strong and able to help, but I can go up and down stairs, and get in and out of bed on my own without too much pain.
Thanks for all your support!

You may find that the leg bag makes more sense to you about
a week from now when you feel well enough to go out in public. They say that walking is good for you after RP -- and it is. I did quite a bit of my walking at the local mall while my wife shopped. We both had gotten a bit cabin mad while I was laid up and it was good to get out, do a bit of recreational shopping, and catch a movie at the local multiplex -- all of which I did with the trusty leg bag strapped to my thigh and the drain hose easily accessible via the zipper of my pants that zipped off at the knee.
