Trimix Gel

Just discovered yesterday there is an alternative to Trimix injections, that being Trimix Gel. As I haven't read much on the forum about it, I'm thinking it might not be a very good alternative

Rediting this with some Gel experiences and observations. A lot of this was already covered in those old posts however. Not much new info around.

Firstly, although Trimix Gel is cheaper than MUSE (which is its main competitor) at about 1/2 the cost, well, MUSE cost $300 per six sticks -- and Gel is 'only' $150 per six splooshes.

Second, it does mostly live up to it's reputation for Trimix-like non-ache. This, even though Gel is almost 100% PGE-1 anyways. But I think because the gel is spread all along the urethra when being absorbed it does not cause any burning or aprostadil ache. A good thing.

If you look at the current website you will see that they now even offer a 2000mcg version. They probably realized that they needed a higher dose version to be successful with more customers. If you are going to try this definitely start at 1000mcg and work your way up. It IS possible to divide up, say, a 2000mcg gel into two 1000mcg parts but it is awkward to do and impossible to get it exactly right. I had started at 500 and worked up to 1500mcg versions before moving on to regular Trimix injections.

As far as effectiveness -- one sploosh might have been good for an hour. A lot less than Trimix shots (at 100 times less PGE-1 in a shot).

So, like you, I had some reservations about moving on to shots but, being basically a cheap piker, I like the 1 dollar per Trimix (or plain PGE-1) shot cost vs $25 (corrected from $15 -- sorry!) per sploosh cost for Gel.

My compounder responded that the trials went very well. I'll try some gel and post the results, I have some injectable trimix coming from another pharmacy, we'll see how that works also.

Hey, I will literally try anything before a needle in little Elvis. I admire all the guys who say it's no big deal, and I know for a fact I was not injected properly on my doc visit, but if it works, am I not a lot better off. I don't really care what it costs (one poster mentioned the price differential is about $14 per use).

Some of the info I saw indicated the effectiveness was spotty, but again, what;s the harm in trying?

I wonder if the gel is spread on the penis, if it would affect the woman coming in contact with it either vaginally or orally. As a woman, I'd want to be assured it wouldn't cause any reactions and be 100% safe for me.

Thanks Peter. I thought it was, but then thought I read somewhere it is also spread. It would be an interesting question to ask a doctor though.

I've tried it twice. 30& erection first time, 50% erection second time. Definitely increased blood flow but not enough for penetration. Seems to be going in right direction though (up). I do know the trimix gel prescribed is the lowest does and lower than injections, so any reaction is likely a good sign. Some pain, but I also had pain with injection. Either way pain caused by drug itself was tolerable. Even if I'm going off reservation a little, I plan to take a viagra and try it as well. Worse thing that can happen is perma-erection witch results in a needle in the penis which is what I'm looking at any way if gel doesn't work.

I feel any increased blood flow with oxygenated blood is going to be therapeutic right now (9 mos. post-surgery w/100 % ED at 53 yrs. old).

Gonna go through 6 doses and see how much progression I make. If the erection results go up each time, I'm going to stay with it for 6 more does hoping it will either work or "jump start" me. Gotta try. Still have complete aversion to needle. Once I know I've done all I possibly can, I'll try needle again.

Again, any success stories with gel are appreciated.
