Good news, yesterday's psa test was undetectable (<.015)

Bad news, cholesterol has doubled (as well as ldl/hdl ratio) in the last 12 months despite 80mg of Lipitor daily. I have no one to blame but myself. MOVE MORE>>>EAT LESS. (previous heart attack survivor...twice)

Dude! Watch out! My grandfather died of PCa at age 64, but my dad didn't give PCa a chance- he died of a heart attack at 50......YOUR AGE. Be a good boy and don't let your blood turn into red mayonnaise!

Congratulations on the PSA - great news! It don't get much better.

on the cholesterol - dude you know what to do, get at it. ;)

Congrats on the PSA, good news.

Now the PSA is something we don't have a lot of control over, but the other is something that we do. Your choice though. My Pca is venturing into uncharted water, but physically I am in some of the best shape of my life and enjoying the hell out it.

Can't do it all at once, but steps of any size will take you where you want (need) to go.

I have a friend your age who has several stents in his arteries. He has not changed his diet so I expect if he ever gets prostate cancer it might be the least of his worries.

My GP doc tells me that if I want to die as a poster child for PCa, I'll need to not die first of a heart attack.

Get out and walk a couple of miles a day. Or else. So they tell me.

If two miles a day gives balance, four will give you room to cheat on the "daily" rules, in reason. When my office complains I'm not at my desk, I refer it to my doc, who certifies it as physical therapy.

Beat the other easy killers so you can die of, instead of with, PCa. Mess with the stats ;)

well, you can control the bad news and the good news is really GREAT news.

I'm with you, my doc told me to stop eating pasta and bread as mine is high too. Not easy for an Italian.

we can do this, it's not hard. Good good and good exercise.

Yeah, although these cholesterol numbers are still barely within my dr.'s limits, ldl 98, hdl 48, total 198, I can definitely make some changes. We had also deleted zetia from my daily regimen. I have a cardio appt. in 3 weeks. My numbers were ldl 50, hdl 42, total 117 a yr ago, with zetia as well as potato chip abstinence.( my one vice) I also think the new guidelines of not following cholesterol target numbers are garbage. So, off for a walk I go.....
