Greetings everyone,
This is my first post, just found this site, 9 days post DaVinci Surgery... Had this done on 12 NOV 13 doing better everyday!
Stuck with my catheter until the 27th...
My surgery took much longer than expected probably an additional two hours...the. Doc had difficulties removing everything and saving my nerves, hopeful that all was removed and save them. Also difficulties reattaching my bladder and had to fix a hernia on the way out too.
I spent two nights in the hospital. Had a rough time passing gas and getting all the CO2 out, first BM was so great and the next two ever better.
Have had a few issues with bladder spasm from either too much movement or not enough meds.
Grateful for an amazing wife, great kids, and super support system, of co-workers, family, and friends couldn't do this alone.
48, diagnosed APR 2013, G score 3+3=7, 5% only 1 sample, Watch n Wait, 2nd biopsy SEP 2013, G score 3+4=7, 40% three samples, not a good candidate for radiation so DaVinci it was.

Good luck with your pathology. I'm glad I chose
open RP: 1 1/2 hours, no complications.

Welcome to HW PC.
Good luck with you recovery, and pending pathology
If the bladder spasms are too bad, ask your doctor for Ditropan
I had my original catheter for 63 days, so don't feel bad

Glad that it is over for you in terms of the surgery. Your cath comes out just before Thanksgiving so you will have even more to be thankful for. Hope the healing goes well for you and keep us posted.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a bit of a bumpy ride for you for a while but hopefully things will smooth out now. Be sure to take big pads (Depends not Guards) when you go to get your catheter out. Some guys leak quite a bit the first few days.
Let us know about
your pathology report.

You've come to the right place for information and support from the most giving group I have ever encountered. I had my RALP on Nov 12th as well. I was very lucky to have received a very good path report as well as a positive experience upon having my catheter removed today. I wish you the best!!!!

Thanks everyone, I can only stay optimistic and positive and hope for the best. Having spent over 21 years time in service in the Army as an Infantryman I can only say that getting shot at and blown up is much easier than this roller coaster! Ready for the ride to level off and things going in the right direction. Thanks for the support. RLTW 1SG

Welcome aboard Waorgany!
Sounds like you had somewhat of a battle in surgery. The worst part is over and each day does get better.
Good luck with your pathology report.
Thanks for your service to our country.
