My robotic prostatectomy went fine, PCa confined to prostate capsule. The surgeon, to be conservative, also dissected 3 pelvic lymph nodes: no PCa, but lymphoma in all three. The surgeon said my type of lymphoma, CLL -- chronic lymphocytic leukemia, is low grade, slow-growing, usually a candidate for long-term watchful waiting, and sent me off to an oncologist/hematologist. He's running blood tests (10 vials) and also had me take a PET/CT scan. I see him next week to find out how slow-growing the lymphoma is.
The surgeon said he sees lymphoma in pelvic nodes occasionally. I'm wondering if any of you have encountered this situation and would welcome finding out your insights and experiences. I'm not overly wound up but I'm getting tired of medical visits and tests and sure would welcome a break before starting any new treatments.
