im 3 1/2 weeks post ralp and pad free which im very thankful for . don't want to be a baby and complain since ive been reading some sad stories on here about some less fortunate than I . my heart and prayers go out to all those guys . but my issue is that I constantly feel (except sleeping and first thing in morning) like theres a shotglass of urine in my penis , not the bladder. even and esp rite after a piss . I relax the muscles and nothing leeks . this is so uncomfortable its not funny . I think because of this I squeeze while I shouldntt
and also empty my bladder too often thinking I have to go . could it be its not urine but a sensation that's feels like it . I think advil has helped. if anyone knows when and if this will go away pls help I cant take it

All I can tell you is that you get all kinds of strange and uncomfortable sensations after surgery, including the sensation that you have to go when you know you don't. They'll calm down eventually, but understand that you're still healing on the inside and will be for a while.

Congrats on being pad free after 3 1/2 weeks. I wish I had been. Hope you did well with your surgical pathology. That's what really matters.

Hang in there and try to be patient; the other stuff gets better.

Tell your urologist. It may be a UTI.

Patience,

I had that same feeling off and on for about 6 months--didn't need a pad and no leaking, just that feeling like I needed to go or didn't empty my bladder. I got checked for a UTI, stricture,--nothing. Finally just decided the heck with it. Just finally went away on its own. My doctor said sometimes, even if you're continent, which I was at 3 weeks, it takes awhile for your bladder to stretch and return to normal. Just part of the healing process for me.

And you can get some phantom feelings in both your bladder and penis, sending very convincing signals, but in reality are false. Hopefully such feelings will fade away over time as you continue to recover.

I will be 5 weeks post op RALP on the December 31st. I have very little leakage. Usually a little when I am tired in the afternoon ( I am back to work). I use one light pad a day.

But.... I have the same complaint as you. I get this feeling in my penis half way between an itch and a discomfort. I urinate in an effort to relieve the feeling. Sometimes I am successful. Sometimes I am not.

I had a urinalysis done last week and everything is negative. I am attributing everything to the " process." My observation is that if I go horizontal for awhile, the feeling goes away.

Had a lot of similar issues. I had three different bouts with urinary tract infections in the first 5 months, each worse than the one before. They were caused by my stupid thought that pads should be full before I changed them. Once I got my brain in sync, I changed them when uncomfortable, washed the area much more often (at every pad change), and relearned a trick to empty the urethra that I had learned in college. A good press on the underside, just back of the scrotum, pushes out those last few drops.

Clean and dry are prerequisites to sorting out any more serious issues.

And yes, some bother remains 4 years later, but like many things in life, I've taught myself not to notice it anymore.

yes I had that and more...occasionally still feel the need to pee just after I peed already....once and awhile feel like old times....(almost)



Good luck don't go wanking on it yet trying to get every ounce out....dive it some time and do those kegals.

I still laugh at myself thinking I had to take a dump the minute I woke up in may room after surgery....After all the enemas what's to dump lol but it sure felt like it. I killed myself to get to the can though...Me and FRED. We were inseparable for almost two weeks.
