PSA results ?

I went to my uro yesterday for my 2 year checkup.

He said everything is great and my PSA was "less than 0.1" non detectable.

In here I see that most of you have results that are less than

" .01 "

Is this just the way he reads it or what?

I asked him if he meant .01 but he said no 0.1

Can anyone clear this up for me?

It a difference in how sensitive the PSA test is. Not all a labs do a test that can detect PSA amounts below .1. Some labs can test down to .01 or even .001. The folks you're seeing with lower numbers are likely using a different lab than you are.

In any case, less that 0.1 is considered a zero by most and firmly puts you in the zero club with all the bragging rights therein granted.

It is usually posted as <0.1 meaning less than one.

Congrats on your 2 year Anniversary at Zero. I hope to follow your lead in 6 months.

If the lab does PSA test to nearest tenth of a point, and you are .1, you are undetectable. By definition, it's not possible to get a reading of <.1 at a lab like this.
