First trimix injection

Alrighty!! Anyone who's read my past posts about my aversion to trimix injections. Had a horrible experience on my first injection session at clinic, and even my wife who witnessed it said she wouldn't do it! Well, it took me 6 darn mos. to overcome my psychological barrier to this. I'm bipolar, so that didn't help as the depression, fear and anxiety hot the best of me. To complicate matters, my Mom passed away 2 weeks before the injection session gone wrong, the injection was not successful (fired a blank), and ant courage and emotional energy was sucked up by the grieving process, and a healthy does of depression. It is so counter-intuitive to stick a needle in your willie, so whatever intellect I have kept me checked out of process. The perfect storm included some marital,stress and difficulty.

Well, some good news is in order here for all those having a difficult time with trimix injections - I did my first today, almost a year after surgery, and it was 100% successful!! There is hope again. I can't express how emotional (to the good) I feel right now. For all those struggling with this (and I suspect there are more than are willing to post about their weenieness), you can do this. My story: 1) did it while wife was out of town (no pressure for results). 2) I put on my prostate cancer survivor shirt (superman did!,). 3)took a zanax - against everyone's advice. 4) put phone close in case I needed 911, seriously. 5) methodically did it.

What has hurt the most is I've had an erection for an hour! Don't worry, it's going down so I won't end up in ER. thanks for all your support. My advice -Just do it in your own good time.

Yeah. Took about 2 hrs for erection after minimum dosage to subside after " being all over myself - couldn't keep myself from me - no way I was going to waste erection after a year of none!! Put on some boxers, take another couple zanax, and relish in the moment (or 120 mins.).

Feel like I won the Super Bowl.

You are way ahead of the game only having surgery in August. That's great. I would check with your uro. Mine is classified as 15 "units" and I'm not sure how that translates to ml. Instructions are that I can titrate up to 50 units, but I'm thrilled 15 worked because the same dosage did not work I my clinical test session. All I know is they stat you out pretty low because they don't want a reaction to the drugs or a 4 hr plus erection that causes obvious issues.

I mentioned there was a full 6 mos. between my first injection and my self-administered injection. It takes some time for the trauma to the nerve bundles to heal. If you're getting 60% I'd say that's quite good given your short time since surgery. Check w uro though because I do know they start you out really low and take you up slowly from there. I was not required to consult w doc to up my dosage 5 units at a time until it worked for a useable erection. I guess the time and the healing to my psyche just helped to allow Same dosage that didn't work 6 mos ago to work to work now. I know patience is not our strong suit, but I think in this case a little goes a long way. Great luck to you.

yk makes a great point. "trimix" is just a name, but the actual medicine varies based on the proportions of the 3 components that are in it. What you have is custom based on whatever your doc wrote on the prescription.

And, even when two guys have the exact same med, the outcomes vary.

Do you shake vial before drawing up?
...Some people do .. you don't have to .. I don't.

Do you sit or stand when injecting (don't want to pass out!!)?
...Some People do sit, Some stand .. I stand.

Do you let entire vial get room temp or just syringe?
... No need to since you don't want the whole batch getting above 40F for very long. And I draw out 5-10 filled syringes to use (saves an alcohol wipe or more). And never warm it from the fridge .. no problems.

I suppose should add a couple more Do or Don't yous:

Do you plump with a pump first?
Some People do .. some don't .. I don't (but have tried a few times -- no diff really).

Do you inject near base or near middle...?
Some people do middle ,, some do base ... I do base (1" up).
(And some people have turtles to work with so you don't have a lot of 'latitude' to work with .. and if you have a fat pad can make it tough to see what you are doing).

Yk, I think I mentioned before your Trimix ingredients are about the weakest in each of the three parts that I have seen anyone list. So that explains why you need so much volume.
