Open Surgery Done - Recovering

It's not as studly as it might seem.
As I am sure most on this forum will attest to, you just deal with each day as it arrives whether it's an appointment, a scan, labs, treatment, surgery....
In addition, staying connected with my HW brothers supplies me more strength than I could ever give. So I have been glued to the details during my recovery time these last few days. I intend to be an example and testament of long term success for an aggressive approach in attacking PCa for young guys with advanced disease. It's working well so far!
Don't get me wrong, I do have a complete life outside HW & PCa that includes wife, kids, work, and all things good and bad that life has to offer. But, it has been good to stay connected here for support from the only people who truly get it. Ok - I'm rambling now, I'll blame it on the pain meds. Maybe I should have just left your comment alone - it's not every day someone calls you a stud!!

I hope to be called a stud again soon. But at this point it just aint happening. Still early though and hope is alive! Way to go Lots sounds like you have made some fast improvement. Seems like alot of us had our surgery around the same time. I also go back and look at Patrick M's old posts because there were quite a few in his time range as well. He is ahead of us and that info helps as to what may be coming up. Then of course theres the real veterans on here that have been there done that and read it a thousand times. This is truly a great place. But I wish we all could be here for a different reason of course.

Hello HW,
I am scheduled to have my catheter removed tomorrow after 15 days. It has not been comfortable but I thought it would be worse. I think the surgery incisions inside and out have been a nice distraction. Ok, not nice but a painful distraction.
I had another catheter accident late last week. I hung the bag on a rack at about waist high in the shower. The catheter had a big loop that was about 8 inches off the floor of the shower. While washing my hair, a heavy trifolded towel fell from above the shower door. My eyes were closed when it landed on the lowest part of the loop. A Very painful tug. My bag filled with blood for another day but appeared to be resolved after that. Hoping the planned removal tomorrow is not delayed because of this accident.
I try to be very cautious with the bags and tubes but managed to have 2 separate accidents anyway. Any other setbacks or catheter catch stories out there?
