How can I enjoy a caress after 5 months of hormone therapy?

Yes, after 5 months of ADT, all the desire has gone. But just a month ago I still enjoyed rubbing my hands over my wife's skin. Now, when I caress her, it feels the same as if I were caressing a 20 lb sack of potatoes. I feel nothing. Have any of you figured out any way to overcome these feelings, (or this lack of sensory-feedback)?

Stop ADT and wait, around the same time frame you were on ADT. Until then, its all just a "sack" of po ta toes

While you are on ADT it isn't going to be the same but if you try to stay in the habit of intimacy you will be eventually be able to get past what is missing and appreciate what is left.

Touching and being touched, and any sort of sex if you can manage it, will help to keep up your level of oxytocin and your wife's. It doesn't make you horny but it does make you feel cuddly which is something. It's thin soup, I'm afraid, when you are used to testosterone-fueled passion but is is what is on the menu for you just now.

to tell you the truth....I find myself still feeling the want and desire to kiss and touch...it still arouses me after 3 years of HT.....if I could only get little willy to think that way though...LOL

it all depends on how you interpret the touch and how your brains ( the one above the tie and the one below the belt) were hot-wired.
-right now the touch / caress seems like a sack of potatoes (don't ever show your wife that posting!) :-) but if it can be a touch to the one you love and share your life with - not just to the one you have sex with - you can start to turn it around so you receive pleasure ( on a different level) that is longer lasting and enduring.... "forever and ever, in sickness and in health, until... " you know the rest.....

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I guess no one has discovered a break-through strategy for overcoming this problem.

Fauntleroy said it would take two years for my feelings to return if I'm on ADT for two years. That's really depressing! Is that true for most?

Zoladex and Lupron are powerful drugs. I never thought my feelings for my wife and the pleasure of touching her skin were so dependent on a hormone, and that a chemical could shut it off like a light switch.

Perhaps this is why men have affairs. There is just no desire or passion, even a simple touch gives me no feelings, like it used to. At least I still like to hug her. Of course, an affair wouldn't give me back those feelings I'm missing because I'm still on ADT!

At least I still enjoy seeing her naked! I hope ADT won't take that away, too.

The statistics for how long it takes to get back in the game after cessation of ADT were mostly collected for populations of men older than you are. One study I saw gave the median time to recovery (not defined, probably to reference testosterone range) as 11.7 months with a population of men twelve years your senior on average. It is reasonable for you to hope to do well better than that since you are so young. But it does take a while for your engine to warm back up.
