Here's what I sent my friends:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
OK, time for a mass emailing. I hate this, but it's a good way to
let people know how things are going. I wish I didn't have to do
this.
But it is the best way to convey information.
KEEP IN MIND THAT I HAVE A TELEPHONE APPOINTMENT WITH DR. LAM ON
WEDNESDAY, SO EVERYTHING I SAY IS PROBABLE FROM OUR PREVIOUS
DISCUSSIONS.
This was by far the most nerve-wracking time, awaiting these
results. I have been having problems due to the heavy duty
medications (at various times: liver issues, kidney issues, and
anemia). If my cancer marker can stay very low, then it basically
means I am in remission and can take a "medication vacation" that
could last awhile and would almost certainly improve the other
issues, since they were probably caused by the medications.
I saw the vampire Friday and was expecting to pick up the results
Tuesday afternoon. But during the day Umich called and wanted me to
call back to discuss my test results. They NEVER do that. Must be
bad news. I then tried to call Dr. O's office to get the
results. All of a sudden, the nurse can't talk to me because she had
to discuss it with the doctor. Must be bad news. So, I went to the
hospital records office to get the results. Their computer was down.
I had to wait almost an hour. Not good! But I finally got the
results.
Bottom line: undetectable! Period. Additionally, and surprisingly,
the other aforementioned issues (except for a very slight anemia)
have cleared up.
I will discuss the results with Dr. Lam and hopefully I can stop all
the medications except for a maintenance drug that should not cause
me any problems! Then again, as you can see, ASSUMPTIONS need not be
reality.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>To my HW brethren: The PSA said <0.02. This was surprising. I checked with the lab and apparently the lowest they record is 0.02. Mel
