I remember in March, 2013, I shed quite a few tears the day I had to get my first Lupron shot. I cried going and coming back (driving with a pain in my  butt, literaly). It represented a dark time -- a new unhappy phase -- in this long PC fight.

Today I had my phone appointment with Dr. Lam. He described my response to HT as being extremely good and said I can go intermittant...starting today. It is good to get off that crap and I am looking forward to feeling better. From my reading, it might take quite a few months to see improvement, but I'm quite happy!

Dr. Lam is hopeful that I will be off for quite awhile, given my strong response.

Next round of tests in 2 months. (I'd prefer 3 or 4 ...or never!)

congrats compiler! may your vacation be a long one. we'll have to wait a few more hours but make mine a Gin and Tonic (Hendricks if you got it)

Mel congratulations on the break. Hope it is a realllllllly long one. Today is a "Bonus Day" for sure.

Congrats and welcome to IHT. What version of Lupron shots were you getting? 1 month, 4 month ? and when was it?

Way to go Mel. I started my 4-month Lurpon in March 2013 also, but on a life sentence.

Just noticed I am rapidly approaching my one year anniversary Feb 21 when I got the G9 news.

Hope you have a long and enjoyable HT vacation and that your libido is able to join you soon.

Mel, as a former Lupron recipient myself (4-month shot variety, covering about a year), I know from personal experience that it weren't fun.

Yes, singing the Lupron blues wasn't exactly the high point of my journey so far, but recovering from the stuff, and starting to feel my old self returning as the last shot wore off, was truly wonderful!

I assume it'll be the case for you too. Get ready to feel great again, as you actually feel your old self coming back!

That's about when I stopped in 2012.  My testosterone was back to normal way before May.  I'm thinking 4 months, but mentally it will be like tomorrow....

That is great news.....2-4 months you should be back to normal. One of the guys in my support group was close 5 years for his first off cycle!!
