If I seek treatment for my prostate cancer, I will use proton beam therapy at either Indiana University or MD Anderson Proton Beam Therapy Center at the Anderson cancer center in Houston. I would like to hear from anyone who has had proton beam therapy at either center. Thank you

Although I have not been active on this forum for some time, I did undergo proton beam treatment at Indiana University Health in Bloomington. I finished treatment approximately 2 1/2 years ago, and my post-treatment psa has leveled off at 0.2 (I was a 4.6 prior to treatment).

I had a great experience at Indiana. I highly recommend the place. It's been so long since I've been here I can't remember if you can pm someone on this forum or not. If pm is not possible, I'll be glad to answer whatever questions you have here on this forum.

Good Luck if you decide on treatment, I think Proton is a great treatment option. Only problem is the price for the insurance companies. Some are pushing back. Weather is better in Florida, UFPTI. :-)

It was absolutely the right choice for me. I will attend my 2 year visit next week. Check out my stats to see if your situation is similar to mine. Also check out Proton Bob and the web site at UFPTI. There is a new study out from the University of Florida Proton Institute that confirms the cancer free rate of the patients treated there. Good luck whatever you decide. Also, you may email me for particulars if you like.
