GFMPH FLORIDA ALMOST HERE

I noticed that Sonny posted that in 25 days the first guys will be arriving for the gathering. We are getting so excited to see everyone again.

I'm just heart broken that we had to cancel, because we've planned a trip to RI (New England), the end of May, first of June. Taking our two younger grandkids. Just can't afford both trips. However, there will be another time and we do plan on attending one in the very near future. New York in Sept.??

As the time gets closer for the Florida GFMPH, I am getting more depressed knowing that we will be missing out on a huge event. I was really looking forward to seeing Sonny and Sherry's place and meeting the new folks and all .

We've been to three gatherings and every time it was over I would start looking forward to the next one.
You guys/gals are the best.

We will get to Rochester in Sept ( hopefully without a speeding ticket this time ;-)

With the snow and cold here in Idaho that has persisted for what seems like a very long time, we look so forward to spending time with good people in the state of Florida for this upcoming GFMPH. As Sonny has stated here, we'll miss some of you that we have seen before. But, know that we will toasts all of you, and remember those that we've lost from the GFMPH group.

I am down here in So. Florida in W.Palm Beach, just south of Jupiter and it is in the 80's and sunny today. Weather should be great for spring training. Bring your sunscreen.

I am one of the newbies going to my first GFMPH gathering. Bringing lawn chairs, beach umbrella, PC songs on my Ipod and bean bag toss game.

Look forward to meeting all of you for the first time after all this time on the forum.

Yes, had a call from my brother who still lives in STL that he and his wife and another couple we went to college with in late 60's (year, not age so pushing a 45th reunion) were going to be in Jupiter for the opening of spring training.

In theory I could drive 3 plus hours to make it to Friday 1 PM game and then 3 plus back after the game but decided to make it into a mini vacation before the real GFMPH.

So staying on Jensen Beach Thursday, game Friday, Riviera beach near you on Friday night and Saturday AM which looks to be the best day weather wise, then trekking up closer to Sonny & Sherry for a couple days at Cocoa Beach that did not rent out like we had planned.

Maybe one of these resorts will have a horseshoe pit where I can get in some practice to not overly embarrass myself at GFMPH, but got a feeling Clearwater Cowboy will still have an advantage:}

I went over to Clearwater last September to be in a Prostate Cancer run/walk. It was great! We headed west over a bridge towards the Gulf at sunset. My wife and I were the only ones from SE Florida in the race. Nice weekend road trip to the west coast. Florida is a great state for road trips, only about 100 miles wide in most places.
We are going to see the Charlie Daniels Band Saturday night down here, free concert under the stars!!!

Definitely looking forward to meeting you and the others attending their first GFMPH plus renewing acquaintances with those who I met at my first GFMPH in Rochester last Sept.

No, not much of a STL Cardinal groupie since we moved to east coast in 1971, after having lived there since 1948.

In fact I did not realize Florida Marlins and STL Cards share the same facility.When my brother and college friend who both still live in STL told me they were going to 2-3 games on a tour, I opted for the one in Jupiter but not the Marlins home game the next day that I erroneousy thought would be in Miami rather than same Jupiter field, switch dugouts.

The trek up to Cocoa Beach was an odd coincidence of use it or lose it timeshare week that did not rent, rather than a plan to follow the birds Northward. It happened to start on Saturday which left us wth no place to stay Friday after the game in Jupiter. Marriott points at Riviera Beach solved that without 3.5 hour drive NW back home and 3 hours back East to Cocoa next day.

As t turns out I proably could have saved a few sheckles on the tickets since Cards sell out and Marlions do not, if I had bought visitor tickets on the Marlins site, but c'est la vie.

Sonny's the big baseball/softball guy having just retired from umpiring that may not co-exist well with Lupron hot flashes.

I haven't been on HW much lately as Dianne and I have been so busy getting our house ready to sell so we can move back to San Antonio Texas in the next few months. The house goes on the market next week and I have a buyer for my business which will close on June 1st.

With all that to do there is still no way we will miss the GFMPH at Sonny and Sherry's Spa and Resort. Just got off the phone with the RV company in Orlando to reconfirm our RV rental and we pick it up at 10:30am on Thursday and should be at the Resort and Spa a couple of hours later. I hear the gathering is going to the dogs, but we are leaving ours home with the neighbors. We leave Birmingham on Wednesday so I can meet the owner of a company in Orlando about some employment opportunities with them in Sam Antonio in the water purification business.

I am excited to meet all the newbies and all the old gathering attendees in just two weeks. As one of our great members use to say "this will be the most gooderest GFMPH since the last gooderest one"

LupronJim POSTED: It's only right that Dave host Jim and Marie since they were good enough to feed us as we passed through Champaign Il on way from Chicago to STL last year.

Maybe we can complete the cycle next time Dave and grandmother of 4 are in west central Florida.

YES, Jim and Marie are more than welcome to stay at our home. Just let us know the date. BTW, my late brother in law is from Champaign, Il. My mother was born and raised in Herrin, Il. My grandparents and mothers side of the family, lives in Herrin (some are laid to rest there).

Again, HW has been the greatest forum I've come across since being DX in Oct. 2012.

I know, everyone will have a great time in FL.

Have I mention that, we've been married 44 years this coming Sept. and up to a few years ago, we've had about 38 warm bodies live with us! So, we're used to people in our home.
