Welcome aboard Hatter!
We all know to well the feelings you are going through. I am a surgery guy and had a "rock star" surgeon do my surgery. Yes I would have to say a gut feeling will help you make the decision. You are doing the right thing by picking someone who has done many surgeries. I have a friend who had Tewari do his and he was very pleased with his results. You will have a catheter for about
a week so if you are traveling to the hospital, you will want to stay nearby until the cath is removed. I had mine done in Florida so I stayed at a hotel across the street from the hospital. My hotel room came with a kitchen and my wife prepared the meals after surgery.
I agree with JNF about
getting in the best shape you can. You have a fight on your hands and you want to train like a fighter. If you are overweight, try to loose a few lbs. to help the surgeon out.
I was a Gleason 7, 10 of 12 core, PSA 18.5 and I am still happy I had surgery. It took about
4 weeks to schedule my surgery. They will want your body to heal some from the biopsy.
Others will be a long soon so suck up some knowledge from your new brothers here.
Best wishes and good luck. My email is available if you have any questions, feel free to email me. Just click on the envelope by my name to the left of here or click on my name, Big Mac.
