Latest PSA reading is < 0.064 again. I've been off Lurpton and Casadex for 8 months now.
Drinks are on me tonight Guys!

Way to go, Bertb, what a great number, let alone being a Gleason 9 guy.

Congratulations Bert!! Keep it up!
I do have one question for the experts though. about
that troublesome caret (<) again.
Bert's PSA shows two <0.008 with the rest higher but preceded with that < also. So assuming that all tests were performed at the same lab to the same standard; shouldn't the results higher than <0.008, (as to my understanding from previous threads, this(<0.008) would represent the lowest threshold of their test) have been displayed without the < ?
What have I missed!? For some stupid reason it's really bugging me.
Cheers, Doug

Wonderful news, bertb! It's really encouraging to hear that, especially since you've been off of HT for a bit now. How's the testosterone level recovering?

Bert,
Those are some great numbers! Congrats.
Doug,
Why do you assume the same lab with the same standard? Men treated for high-risk PCa have lots of different doctors and every time they have an appointment, whoever they see will order a PSA test at his (the doctor's) favorite lab. Looking at Bert's signature I see three doctors, three labs. For a guess, the <0.010 results were tests ordered by his radiation oncologist, the <0.008 results were his medical oncologist (when he got his
Lurpton
Lurpron
Lupron shots) and the <0.064 is his urologist.

Ok Peter that clears it up, where I am they're using one lab for the district. Much different medical system than the States, must try's and keep that in mind.
Cheers, Doug

First let me apologize for my spelling… my only excuse is fat fingers and small keys. Using iPhone isn’t easy for me.
Shaba.Doug / PeterDisAbelard, I only have only two Doctors that I see now, a Med. Onc. and a Rad. Onc.. Both are in the same building and use the same lab. My urologist quit the practice just after I chose my treatments. I see no reason to get another at this point.
I just returned from my appointment with my Rad. Onc. this morning and I asked her about
the “<” marks. Since I have been having all my test run by the very same lab every time, she believes that their testing procedures must have changed. I’ve been pulling <0.064 for the last four times and she believes that must be their lowest reading. Good news for me…..
Redwing57: My testosterone level has increased from a low of 10 to a present level of 168. My Doctors are very pleased that my PSA has not increased while my Testosterone has. It’s still low but encouraging.
Bottom line.. Doctor is very encouraged with my test results. Only hope they aren't blowing smoke up my butt. bertb

Bert, that is a really great report. Maybe there was something magical in that trip down under. Whatever it is/was, I sure hope you stay at that place for many years to come. We missed you in Florida, maybe you can make it to NY. You have never made it there.
