Big PSA drop first month of treatment

Hello. We went to the urologist yesterday and my husbands PSA dropped from 790 to 88 in the first month of treatment. Doctor seemed very pleased. Husband got a shot of Xgeva. I slept pretty well last night, but only after googling and searching "how long does hormone therapy work for advanced prostate cancer". I don't know why I keep insisting this is not going to go well. I want to believe that he could be like others and live a very long time with this. I admire his optimism. I need to "come around to this way of thinking". Thanks for all the information and care shown, I used a lot of advice here to ask the doctor questions yesterday.

That is awesome my dad's dropped from the 700's to 50 first month, 2 months later 20 and we will see May 13th what his next PSA is after his 3rd shot. He takes Lupron every 3 months and has advanced metastic cancer. It's normal to feel the way you do. He is newly dx too and it is a rollercoaster of feelings, especially if they still feel bad. My father has a lot of pain and fatigue. Some days I think were ok, we got this, others I'm worried and scared. I'm so happy for you and his drop, our oncologist was over the moon!
