Orgasm after prostate surgery

I am in the other school of thought. My post surgical (and post radiation) orgasms are far greater than they ever were pre-PC days. Of course they are "dry", except for some release I still get from my cowpen's gland. Orgasms are intense, and long lasting, hard to quantify accurately, but would say they last 5-6 times longer.

I know this subject varies so much, guy by guy, who have underwent PC surgeries. Took me about a year to fully get use to the "dry" part, but once you get that out of your mind, it's been good. In my personal case, I wouldn't go back to the past, rather have what I have now.

They are pleasurable, but not the same and not as satisfying as before. It's one of the side affects of RALP I am most unhappy about. But... in the big picture of life well worth it

I had surgery in 2007 and have no ED issues.   I find that orgasms for me now are far less shorter then before, but on the other hand for the 2 seconds they last, it seems to be much more intense.

Before my surgery , I would ejaculate seman with absolutley no force.  It would just drible out,  but my orgasm would last maybe 15 seconds with multiple ejaculations of dribling seman.    

Now after my surgery, when I have an orgasm,  I have one giante INTENSE ejeculation that lasts maybe 1 to 2 seconds where I ejaculate a stream of urine like a fire hose.  With a good orgasm, I can ejaculate urine with such force that I can hit the cieling, and it feels very intense. 

Ejaculating urine seems to give me the same pleasurable sensation as it leaves the penis, as I had when I ejaculated seman with my prostate, but now it seems a lot more intense.  The one big diference is, it only lasts for a couple of seconds.  Before my surgery I would have lower intensity but over a longer period of time like 15 seconds.  Where as now, I have and hig intesity orgasm, but over just a second or two and then nothing.

Now, if I empty my bladder before sex, I will still ejeaculate some urine, but my orgasm is less intense and less pleasurable.

I have a quandary when I have sex. If I try to empty my bladder so I have no or very little urine during ejaculation so I don't gross out my partner, I don't enjoy my orgasms, and feel nothing.   If I don't empty my bladder completely so I will have an intense pleasurable orgasm, my partner gets mad and grossed out because I ejaculated urine into her.

 

 

I have not experienced any difference with the either the duration or intensity of my orgasm. Of course minus the ejaculate.

Sooner - how about one of those big showers with seating arrangement?

I'm soon to be 45 in August and had my surgery in Nov. 2011 at 42.

I was eager to try out my new situation after getting the cath out, as most of us are. I was very "lucky," in that, I've never had real "failure" at sex... before or after. Altho it wasn't the same and my erections were less rigid following surgery, even with meds early on, I've progressed to only needing the meds as a "bumper" to ensure success. Most times I can manage without. That said...

The first orgasm after surgery was freaky. I felt it in the shaft and all down thru the scrotum, but only in a tightening way. I felt what I described to my uro as a "fluttering" feeling emanating from behind my pubic bone, which sat farther back after surgery, the sensation spreading out across the lower part of my abdomen. He said, "Did you like it?" I said, "It was surprising, but not un-pleasurable. But the sensation did make me call you..." ---"It's all normal. Part of the healing process."

I tend to agree with him. Two years later, the orgasm is almost the same as pre-surgery but no discharge. And I play the med dose, usually viagra, from whole to half or none, depending on my interest level, the wife's, etc. I think that things tend to come back to their previous state given time if all the variables of surgery went well.

Can't relate to the minutes thing, but am willing to learn...my gosh...minutes...can only imagine...but I here what you are saying...

An interesting poll would be to see how many guys ejaculate urine after surgery...I'd imagine this is really common especially since most guys don't really care to talk about that very personal part of themselves...

Thanks for the information and suggestions. I tried lying on my right side solo and had the best orgasm since surgery. Not as good as pre op but a lot of improvement.

I am not sure if everyone has different results based on the position they try or if this effect is the result of how the position effects the nerves involved in having an orgasm.

My uro who specializes in sexual function tells me that the nerves involved in having an orgasm are not disturbed by robotic prostate surgery. However, he tells me that many men complain about orgasm quality after surgery.

Also, is the size of an erection effected by prostate surgery? I am not sure if I am smaller because of surgery of if this is a result of aging and I somehow missed the gradual change in size.

I too have trouble having an orgasm during intercourse in the missionary position. Not much success with my wife stimulating me. Mastirbating myself takes quite a while but will eventually eject urine multiple times over the course of a minute or two. I find this quite enjoyable but not the same complete release as with the pre op orgasm.

My only suggestion would be to relax, enjoy the sensation of selt stimulating and not worry about how long it takes. I don't know if the technique gas anything to do witn success, but I find that stimulating the head of the penis mostlyi with occasional accompanying pumping action on the shaft gives me good results.

I am no expert in this area at all. I would suggest that you start slow and don't have too high of expectations right away.

But you might hold your bodies together and then start gently touching and/or gently rubbing and maybe caressing each other's sensitive spots. Be open with each other as to what feels best.

I don't think I would start out hoping to have intercourse right away .Just enjoy the feel of touch of each other and maybe you might slowly build up to having an orgasm. Your husband can be flaccid and still have an orgasm.

But again don't expect too omuch the first time out. Have patience and maybe you will remember some of your old tricks or learn some new ones.
