Having just commented to Donelson's thread, brings to mind something that's been on my mind.

If you are 'Non-Nerve Spared', wouldn't that mean you're not getting signals from the brain down to the genitals ?

That being the case, what good would it do to take any Oral Med..?

I have taken some from time to time trying to see if there might be some effect/assist, but although I get the 'buzz and nasal feeling, I get nothing down below.

It kinda makes sense to me what I'm thinking..Does anyone else have comment about this?

You could take the "nerves are gone, no need for the meds" approach.

My uro/surgeon is of the opinion that there is always a very remote hope that nerves will eventually reconnect, and there are a couple of surgeons who have written a book that proposes this same idea. That being - nerves try to grow along existing paths, and send out a spider web of endpoints. If those come into contact with the other half of the pipe, some function might be recovered.

The meds also serve the purpose of keeping the blood flowing through the tissue. Remember that ED meds came from blood pressure research.

So I am hoping that these guys are right, am working hard to keep all the parts in working order, which includes the daily Cialis dose and a trimix shot now and then.

As 142 said the meds are about blood flow which is how the erection is made when the chambers are filled with blood. Although I was told that my nerves were spared I have full ED and only get erections using the VED. I was told there are two sets of nerves at work. One for erections and one for orgasms,which thank God I can have. Occasionally I try some oral meds and do get a little more blood flow, but nothing that will give an erection. This lack of blood flow along with the other trauma associated with our surgeries contributes to the Peyronies. Regards Inkhorn

My doc had me doing the pump and oral meds to keep blood flowing.
I had ed issues before surgery (50mg Viagra solved it then)
I am now 5 months post-op and have not yet had a good erection, but I have seen progress.
Davidg is right, blood flow is key to have a chance at recovery
