I am 65 years of age. My PSA level has increased from 1.6 to 3.1 in the past 15 years. My yearly DRE exams have all been normal with 3 different doctors. I have 2 brothers that have survived prostate cancer after having robotic prostate surgery. (removed the prostate) Both my brothers had elevated PSA levels above 8 when the cancer was found on subsequent biopsies.
I have none of the typical urinary issues sometimes associated with prostate cancer.
I've been an avid cyclist for 12 years and recently started experiencing on and off lower back pain most prominent in the sacrum area.
My question is how likely is it that I have prostate cancer considering the above details?
I understand there is no way to give a definitive answer but just curious if there is any published information on the likelihood of having prostate cancer under these circumstances.
Thanks,
Gerald
