My June Report..

Just received my June bloodwork results..PSA 0.4, Testosterone, 5
Last June my PSA was 1.1 so I'm less than half that now..You can't complain when your PSA velocity is trending downward! While my treatment (surgery, radiation and hormone) did not cure me (Gleason 9) it sure seems to have the monster locked up in his cage..Three years on ADT, that's not something to look forward to but it's sure better than dieing ...

Nice work. You're one of the guys who was a big help to me when I first got here and it's really good to hear that you're doing well.

Thanks guys..Your support through all this has been a great comfort to me..

Now, the hardest part has been the waiting....When is the doc going to say "You have become hormone refractory, your cancer is spreading, we need to try something else..." When do I hear those words? one year? two, three? Five maybe? How about ten!

But it's a crap-shoot, nobody knows, every case is different...So my best defense has been to just not worry about it 'cause there is nothing I can do about it..Enjoy the summer and pretend I'm a healthy, happy cancer-free person and live that way for as long as I can...

I completely understand how you feel about the timing of when your PCa becomes hormone refractory. For me, I try not to dwell on that. Too much time thinking about the beast and when it will rear it's ugly head again just tends to get me down. For now, just be happy with your results. Probably easier said than done. Congrats on the good news!

I have be following you since I joined the board. Our stats are somewhat similar along with all the failed treatments we have tried. I am 34 month into triple blockade but I am doing it itermitenty. I am currently on my second vaction with a PSA of 0.01. Keep up the good fight and I will also.
