This is a major presentation on a major trial for advanced prostate cancer patients that was just released this week.

Through my website and the UsTOO chapter I run, I have arranged a webinar for the CHAARTED clinical trial. The presenter will be Dr/ Nicholas Vogelzang who is a co-author of the Sweeney et al paper. The seats are limited and the moderator will be yours truly.

I will limit the attendance but I may open it up beyond the 25 available I have today. Questions must be submitted in advance and PCAF sign in is needed. I may open the presentation up to 200 and to ten live questions.

Please stay tuned as I have to arrange the sign in methods and I will work on it this weekend.

This is great Tony. thanks so much. Can you possibly do this on a webinar service like gotomeeting that allows recording the webinar for later viewing. I would contribute to the cost of there is any. i have to be on a plane for most of the time of the webinar but I would really like to see it and to submit a question in advance.

I will cover it. No worries. Already taken care of.

Recorded will be released later. But participation is most important. 25 seats will fill quickly. Nick is a great presenter and a great Q&A guy. Send your Q's to me. I will pre-Q him before the Q&A. LOL does that make any sense at all?

I will see about adding seats but for now I will be prioritizing those that do fall into the CHAARTED criteria. I will record this event as well. But I am still learning the technology so please stand by. There will be both video and audio participants allowed. To view the presentation, you will need to log in with a web browser and you will need to call a conference line. Stay tuned. My tutorial is later today on the webinar service. I hope to have this completed and ready for registration by Wednesday.

Great to hear from you. I am status quo. And considering the way I felt almost 8 years ago about an advanced diagnosis that's fine with me. A nearly 8 year veteran and still younger than most here. Sigh!

Hi Tony,

I am very interested in joining on behalf of my father. He turned 80 yesterday and we spent the afternoon with his oncologist. He is currently on his first dose of Lupron and due for his first round of docetaxel on Tuesday the day before your event.

Since I am a newbie to this whole arena (Dad was diagnosed 4-17-14) I completely understand if I don't qualify for attendance. LMK my status by Monday and I'll get you over my questions.

Tony- Paul is about to go and discuss this this coming week with Oncology after getting green light from Urology Friday.

Are there any more seats? We would like to be included for certain as we have a lot of questions and unknowns still.

Tony - I cannot be one of the 25 since June 18 is day I fly to Phoenix for my F--18 scan with Dr. Fabio Almeida at AZ Molecular Imaging.

What I can do though is get the cliff notes from you in person since I will be in Vegas/Henderson area the following Tuesday June 24 en route from spoiling 2 grandkids since June 9 here in San Jose to spoiling the other 2 in Chicago thru 4th of July and week after that.

Hope to see you again for a brief stop and meet Ruthie this time.

Question on the CHAARTED study results:   I understand that the original study scope was expanded to also include patients with “low volume” of mets when initial study accrual of patients with only “high-volume” mets started out slow.   These low-volume patients may be considered “upstream” of the more advanced high-volume patients. Also as I understand it, the remarkable median OS improvement for the high-volume patient cohort has now been reported, plus the results for the combined high- and low-volume patients, but not yet for the independent cohort of low-volume patients.   However, as I understand it the thus-far incomplete results for the low-volume cohort preliminarily appear just as remarkable (or moreso) than the high-volume cohort results. How far “upstream” might we see patients benefitting from ADT+D?  What is the "upstream" lower limitation on patient characteristics?  In other words, how soon should ADT+D be considered to maximize OS?

If you would have asked me years ago that I would be attending a webinar on health matters at midnight I would have thought you were crazy.  Yet I did just that last night.

Tony and Dr. V. did an awesome job last night and I was really glad I signed up and participated.  I would encourage anyone to sign up to any future webinars.  The great part about it is that you're not just watching a video...Naturally, being live, you have an opportunity to be part of it and could ask questions or provide comments...

I won't be able to stop in Vegas Tuesday to link up with you and Ruth, as we had tentatively planned.

I had planned to start my return trip from San Jose CA to FL by car on Monday June 23 but now my nephew is in town that day from Saint Louis.

So starting it June 24 but having to take the northern route (which we do not like because the restrooms in some of those states are one step below an outhouse and have beware of snakes and scorpions signs)

in order to make it to DesMoines on Friday for a long lost relative's wedding while en route to visit Wampuscats in Champaign/Urbana IL area June 28 and grand kids in Chicago and STL June 29-July 15 when I finally get back to FL.

I will let you know next time I am near Vegas, but also hope to catch up with you last week of Sept at GFMPH Rochester.
