10 months into ADT and I feel healthy except in the bedroom. 44 radiation treatments were finished last December. Yes, exercise makes a difference. I never felt any fatigue during the treatments. I bicycled 4.5 miles to all my radiation treatments except when it was raining or snowing. PSA has fallen from 21 to .04, then .02, now undetectable (5 months after radiation ended). I weight lift and have no loss in muscle strength. The lymph node with the cancer shrunk from 18 mm to 13 mm. All good signs, but my chance of a cure is still under 50%, but the doctor considers it "localized."
I'm on Goserelin (Zoladex) and bicalutamide was used to stop a flare reaction, "you take it for a few days before starting the LH blocker, and stay on it for about
4 to 6 weeks."
The hot flashes are tolerable during the winter, but now that summer is here, I hate them. Especially at night.
I haven't gained any weight (I'm 6'1" and 183), but would like to exercise off about
10 pounds.
