Is there anyone on the forum that has had a positive
experience with this treatment . I did do a search and every comment
is negative in one form or another . My doctor seems to prefer this to
injections since he believes there is a real possibility of curvature deleloping
from the needle . thanks

I have used it successfully in the past. Not a preferred method by any means. But the issue is always Alprostadil Ache. With 1000mcg of PGE-1 even if it is urethral is a lot of potential ache -- sometimes OK .. sometimes annoying.

And it is costly per stick if you do not have good insurance coverage. Mine was excellent at $30 per box of six as co-pay. That compares to $300 per box retail.

I still keep a yearly prescription running for MUSE so i can get a box or two. But I only get it so I can convert it into an injectable liquid that I can add to BiMix to make practically unlimited amounts of Trimix for a pretty cheap price.

3 mo post op.. my Uro told me the safe way to obtain an erection is the pump.. Injections could cause Peyronie's Disease.. I'm patient so I can wait it out..

I too used the pump for rehab and intercourse and also MUSE and Trimix-Gel -- all for a couple of years. Then finally went with shots for 3 years now with no issues after 600+ shots. So don't avoid other methods because of a very small chance of peyronies happening.
(also I still use the pump regularly .. just for the fun of it ...)

Shots do give the best method of prolonged bloodflow (hours worth if you can adjust the shot strenght just right).

All that fresh blood flow might (or might not) help with healing -- pumps can't do that, although they do keep things nice and stretched and ready for future erections whenever they come and however they are made.

No Patience – I don’t believe there is any real evidence that links injections to Peyronies.
The cause of Peyronies is unclear, but it is believed that repetitive minor traumas to the penis cause small cracks in the erection chamber (tunica). These cracks lead to scar formation which results in decreased stretch towards the side of the scar which causes the curvature. Dr. John Mulhall says there is no evidence that shows scarring occurs from injection therapy as long as you switch sides each time and don’t inject more than 3 times a week. In fact, one of the treatments for Peyronies is an injection therapy!

However, there is some kind of correlation between Peyronies and men who’ve had a RP, as around 15% of these men develop Peyronies compared with 3% to 9% of the male population.

I’ve never used Muse, but as JStars said it is expensive, probably the most expensive ED drug at $25 per pop (Trimix is around $4 to $6 per shot). It’s also less effective than Trimix for most men; Muse is 30% to 50% effective, whereas Trimix is 90% effective. I’ve also heard that it is unreliable - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I used Trimix for 20 months. I’m now 3 years out from my RP and I have not developed Peyronies.

yeah the 15% of ralp guys that chose to do injections . mullah prescribes the injections denies
the connection then treats the same guys for perryionnes revolving door he gets the round trip look on the forum yeah theres lucky ones but its Russian roulette , and where theres smoke theres fire
no coincidences . ralp doesn't scar the penis injections do

But what was your experience with muse ?

As mentioned above I did have success with MUSE, but the achiness of using plain PGE-1 is an annoying thing that does detract from having fun with sex (and you are also stuck with the ache for an hour after you are done).

Also I think that because the tiny pellet used by MUSE system causes highly concentrated PGE-1 point source to radiate out from that point area, that exacerbates the ache (and causes burning sensation too).

A different gel delivery method of Trimix Gel distributes the same 1000 mcg throughout the entire area of the urethra and even though it is almost the same 99% PGE-1 (Pap and Phent being there in tiny negligible amounts just so they can call it 'trimix') that it did produce less or no ache and still a good erection. (price for Gel is 1/2 that of MUSE but still way up there).

Ultimately the price is just too high with MUSE and it is an old, Stone Age method too.

That post could easily be interpreted as slamming a very respected doc. We don't do that here.

I have not used Muse, after a discussion with my uro. It is not covered by my insurance (trimix is), and seems a horrible cost. I actually own stock in the company that makes it, so have a vested interest in getting you to buy it, but if I can't be convinced, I can't push you to. But if you do, spend well.

I have been using trimix for about three years, and Willy has not changed leanings right or left.

FM there are also people that smoke a pack a day and live to be 90 . that doesn't mean
its an endorsement to smoke . Guess its just luck of the draw .

I agree with Jstars and Tigerfan - I did quite a bit of research on this and found there is little concrete evidence that injections have anything to do with Pyronies.

I had great aversion to injections. I went for a short try of Muse, and the ache sent me to a place where I decided sex wasn't worth it. Muse is 100% PGE-1 which is what causes the ache.

Went from Muse to Trimix gel which is mixed at time of use and placed into the urethra with a plastic applicator.

With 1500 mg of PGE-1 I had very sporadic results that were mostly unacceptable. Got a usable erection with about 2 of 6 tries (comes in packs of 6), then switched to stronger mix (PGE-1 at 2000 mg). Got a higher percentage of usable erections, and a lot more ache.

Cost of the gel that I bought was $160 with shipping for 6 doses or $27.50 per dose. Considering that not every dose worked, the cost is substantially higher, so the ache is not only in your penis, but also in your wallet!

Anyway, finally overcame my aversion to needles in the private part, and tried the Trimix injection. Been using it for a couple months now. Once I got the hang of it, success rate hit 100%, I have little to no ache, and my wallet is a lot happier.

One of the problems I've seen is needle length. The usual seems to be 1/2" 29 ga, but I have found a 5/16", 31 ga. a lot easier to use. Unless you have a super thick member when flaccid, a 1/2" length is much more likely to hit undesired areas, perhaps causing internal micro-damage. The needle only needs to break thru the outer layers which are about 3/16 thick to enter the Corpus Cavernosum to do the job.

Bottom line - I found Muse to be worse than uncomfortable, Trimix gel to be less painful, but very unreliable, and injections (after you get over the emotional part) - quite acceptable. You may want to have another talk with your doc.
