Gleason 9 Beast battle is over

Agreed Nell, and thread like this one reinforce your thinking.

Sometimes even MD Anderson and other renowned PCa centers may be bound by protocol, gold standards etc. on how advanced they can treat you.

If you run into any snags, I highly recommend Dr Scholz/Lam/Turner in Marina Del Rey CA who since they are private firm have less limitations.

I am now on Zytiga and responding extremely well since I started in mid June.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing. It takes strength supporting a loved one succumb to this disease, and it sounds like your brother was an inspiration with his drive through all the treatments, and still able to travel even this last year. Thanks to your brother for being willing to try the experimental treatments, may the findings help others traveling down the same road.

Always hate and despise these obituaries of our fallen PC Warriors........but it sounds like it was a good fight and the man took over the disease in the end.

I agree about being knowledgeable and up to date on anything and everything that is coming down "the pipes" in regards to treatment for this disease. We also must be aggressive and assertive with our medical team, some of the doctors are to passive or conservative and must be "pushed". After all they are dealing with our "loved one"...not an inanimate object.....and we also as their caregivers are fighting the fight as well!

You now are to continue on for your brother and fight, fight, fight.......be a Living Warrior for all of us.....

I too am very sorry for the loss of your brother. Very glad to see you are doing very well with your fight with the beast. Life never seemed so delicate until the beast showed up uninvited. I claim victory over the beast for us all in the name of the Almighty Jehova Rophi!
