Melanie -
I have had two MRIs done this year; a 3 T magnet with apron done locally (Austin, TX) in March, and a 1.5 T magnet with endo-rectal coil at MD Anderson in Houston in June. In my case, the 3 T magnet image was more accurate, even though there was no endo-rectal coil. The 3 T image showed a spot which was biopsied and resulted in my positive (for cancer) diagnosis, whereas the follow-up 1.5 T MRI with endo-rectal coil report said "no evidence of malignancy."
