I thought I would share my first ever attempt with Trimix; I'm certain others have experienced priapism, but let me say, it's worse than I thought it would be.
Last night around 10:30 pm, I injected .20 cc of Trimix as prescribed by my doctor. Noteably, this was the same amount as the PA used at the clininc when I was taught how to administer the injection. At the clinic, however, the shot resulted in a 60-70% erection that went away after an hour or so. Not so last night.
The shot worked very quickly and my wife and I enjoyed sex for the first time since my December surgery; it was successful for both of us. Almost immediately after climax, the ache that existed before (and that I experienced at the clinic after the test shot) increased dramatically. about 20 minutes later, I could barely speak as I could not find a position in which to lay whereby my penis didn't feel like it was going to explode (not in a good way at all).
Another 30 minutes later, I couldn't take it anymore and asked my wife to call the Uro doctor on call at the hospital. I spoke with the doctor who advised me to try some Sudafed, but, as I learned on this very site, I had already taken two of the 24 hour doses (the good ones you get behind the pharmacist's counter). She told me to just come into the ER and have them page her. Begrudginly, I drove myself to the ER (it was after midnight at that point and as my name implies, I have kids and so my wife stayed with them).
Once there, I was hurriedly put into an examination room, and one by one, doctors came in and asked me about the meds I was on, what the dosage was, etc. Finally, the nurse put an IV in my hand and I was given morphine - this brought the pain level from a 9 to about a 5 or 6. Thereafter, the Uro and resident doctor teamed up to inject hydralazine, but as they did so, pain shot up dramatically again. So then I was given Dilaudid; I didn't ask for it, but I was happy for it as pain decreased to about a 2 after that.
The doctors completed the injection of about 3 cc's of the antidote (for lack of a better word) and I returned to a flacid state. about an hour later, all pain was gone and I just needed to sober up as I was driving myself home. I convinced the nurse to release me and I drove home around 4 a.m.
The moral of the story is this: be careful what you wish for. I doubt I'll ever try Trimix or any other injection again. Even if I wanted to, I'd have to do it without my wife's knowing because she would flatly refuse any chemically driven advances. So, I will continue to take one half a Cialis every other day and hope that one day, my little friend will bounce back on his own.
Sorry to depress you guys...
