Well this isn't exactly what I really wanted to hear...went to my 9 month post op meeting with Uro after having my blood drawn a week and a half prior...RALP 11-12-13, with positive margins, G7 (3+4), post PSA DEC .064, MAR .074.....and now AUG .33

They redrew blood just to recheck the numbers but as it looks now I will be now attending daily radiation treatments for six weeks in the near future...

Still fairly incontenant and ED now add this....what else can happen or go wrong?

This has been a long tough road but still driving forward. Currently unemployed for the first time since before graduating High School due to all this mess. Just trying to wrap my head around it all. Guess I just wanted to vent and post an update. Thanks.

As I recall you were on Sonny's list to attend GFMPH in Rochester, as am my spouse Karen and I.

I am holding off on starting my radiation until October so as to not miss the festivities in NY. Hope you are well enough with the Side Effects to do the same.

The comraderie and advice from your fellow Healing Well crew will make it worthwhile.

Forward is the only way to drive. Hopefully you will be back in the zero club soon after your radiation. Hope to meet you in Rochester.

Did you mean AUG .33? Doesn't make a lot of difference but some of us here are easily confused. Or maybe it's just me...

I'll start with the obligatory: Well that sucks, doesn't it? Sorry to hear it.

I've done the radiation thing. It's not so bad, usually. The most common side effects men mention are fatigue and hemorrhoids. You can minimize the fatigue with frequent exercise and frequent naps. (On the positive side, men on radiation really enjoy those naps.) The 'rhoids will usually respond to the magic suppositories that your RO can hook you up with.

According to my calendar it looks like you may be doing the radiation thing during GFMPH NY next month which I seem to remember you were planning to attend. The radiation ties you down a bit but you do get weekends off and, if at all possible, you should still plan to attend if you can. We'll feed you and find you a comfortable spot near the fire where you can doze after supper.

Paul, really sorry to hear this. I am also a Radiation guy and tolerated it quite well. As others have said, you have a crap load of stuff going on at the same time, but attending to you health takes priority right now.

Count me in as another that hopes you can make it to NY, if only for a day.

Sorry to hear about the PSA increase. I had my daVinci surgery a day before yours, and my statistics are fairly similar to yours. I too just completed my 9 month PSA test, but haven't received the results back.

Thanks everyone! Not sure if I will get to the GFMPH Rochester or not if so will only be Friday, have another commitment that weekend, trying to delay treatments until 6 OCT....hope it isn't too bad as I am currently in Grad school and would like to keep up my studies.

I'm so sorry to hear this news on top of all that is happening with your post op recovery. I haven't found any time to get with you and meet in Lowville. My Dad had a 2nd stroke in NJ, my Bro and I have him in an assisted living facility near John and I've been commuting every 2 weeks to clear the house and ready it for sale. My Bro is disabled, so I've been doing all the grunt work, and leaking all the way... I'm 8 months post op, with no improvement in sight either. With the help of Worried Guy an his feedback, I believe that an Advance Sling I in my future. Stay tough, Army Strong if I remember correctly! Back to work on 2 September, and I will make a valiant effort try and see you at Lloyds of Lowville prior to that. Please, if you need to talk, 1-315- 794-3776 is my cell number, it's on always.

Sucks to hear that, Paul! What about the Avodart that Snuffy Myers speaks of in that video Viperguy linked to? Or is your doubling time to fast for that approach? Anyway, praying for you and success with whatever treatment you end up doing. I'm a lot better incont wise compared to 2 months ago but still wet enough that I have to consider it every day, still need a pad, so I'm hoping that if my number starts rising, it at least waits a while. As with all of us, time will tell.

I think I'm going to start looking more at what this Snuffy Myers fellow has to say.

Yeah I am not sure wish I had seen that video six months ago and might not be a problem now? Still at 4-6 pads a day...
