One year ago today I completed by primary radiation therapy, IGRT by IMRT at Vanderbilt. 79.2 Gray worth of 10 MeV x-rays, quite a dose really.
A year later, I have essentially no side effects directly from the radiation therapy. Between that and ADT, my PSA has been undetectable ever since. (The bulk of my side effects are from the ongoing ADT.)
With everything else going on recently, I feel a bit like celebrating! Thank you to all those here who've given advice, provided questions to ask the doctors, shared experiences, driven home the importance of a full bladder and so on! Thanks too for listening when I'm worried, down, frustrated, whatever. This is a band of brothers for sure. Nobody "gets it" like you guys.
(Of course, not to diminish the concerns of those with less positive outcomes, it's a tough battle with varying outcomes for varying reasons.)
