Allen, from your response sounds like maybe we should be expecting to hear about multiple radiation modes? Not sure what you mean by "combos".
I hope there is no evidence of distant mets. If it is all local, I think he stands his best chance of a cure with "combo" therapy. They give external beam radiation to the entire pelvic area because he has a 50% chance that the cancer has spread to the pelvic lymph nodes. On top of that, they "boost" the radiation dose by combining it with HDR brachytherapy to the prostate and prostate bed. Cure rates with this kind of combo radiation therapy often exceed 90%.
Not only is it more effective than external beam radiation alone, but it takes a lot less time to deliver the total dose, cutting several weeks off the treatment time.
