2.5 years out..PSA test.

Had an appt with the Uro today.

My PSA is now at 0.019, which is great, I know.

I am a bit troubled, however, about the trend becoming apparent. The numbers seem like they might be creeping up within this ultra sensitive range.

Dealing with the PSA stress is def getting easier with every test, but here I am, finding myself teetering on the edge of that anxiety chasm once again.

Help pull me back.

Is this emerging trend in my numbers something I should be concerned about. Or are all these minute numbers basically the same result?

still very small PSA numbers and statically about the same.

I wouldn't worry too much until you see a clear rising trend and are approaching .1. You're a long way from there.

Hi, My husband experienced a similar pattern adjusting slightly from 0.01 to 0.03 with an occasional .02 over 7 years and goes back and forth between .02 and .03 probably as a result of rounding up and calibration sensitivities. He has had no further problems so far.
I agree with Andrew's explanation. This is a great result!

I just went through anxiety when my husband's PSA went from a range of 0.00 to 0.01 to a level of 0.03. The PA of my husband's surgeon said that they consider anything under 0.05 to be the same as 0.00. They redid his PSA even though it he was not yet due and it came in at 0.00. The reason I was nervous is that my husband had EPE. The ultra sensitive test can cause anxiety but I am still glad that my husband gets it. Your numbers are low.

I can understand why you are feeling this way. I agree with the others in your case-relax, you have a long way to go, but you might consider testing again in 6 months rather than 9 months.

with a reading of .019 you are concerned? hope you are kidding. that still less than .02, which is way less than the threshold of being "clear" of .10. that's less than 20%.

be thankful for an outstanding reading, and don't let the ultra sensitive nonsense get inside of your head, you are doing super.

Purg (David) pretty much nailed it.

I've never had an ultra sensitive PSA; however, after 5+ years of being under under 0.1 I figure I may be cured ..... who knows.
