Glad to "finally" see a post from you Rob......shame on you for letting yourself get dehydrated....shame on Gizmo as well....he should have licked you better! LOL

Glad your oncologist is taking good care of you and putting in the hospital, where you belong in the state and shape you are in.........

Hope you can post while in there.....so we don't have to worry or guess how you are. See, there are a lot of us who care and wish we were closer to help as well.

Our Thursday visit for Xgeva injection was also with nurse practitioner, not with doctor (oncologist). I loved the visit, first off she wanted to know about our visit with getting the Xofigo/Radium223. asked Ted a bunch of questions. Secondly, I mentioned his sleeping habits and she looked at him. and said, oh no, you should not be sleeping that much, what about exercise? HA! Ted's exercise is walking from recliner to bathroom and from bed to bathroom. She said that's one reason why the fatigue and sleeping so much. She said you/Ted need to take one nap a day and go out and tale a walk, a little at first, then just increase as your system and stamina will allow. no marathon. just a brisk walk. moving those arms back and forth as you walk. That's what I've been trying to get him to do....she said the more you lay around and do nothing the more fatigued and then the more you sleep, which is not a good habit to get into. She also said for him to stay up until at least 8 PM and not go to bed at 6 or 6:30. Well. he went out and walked yesterday (Friday) and slept till 5 this morning, without getting up as usual and sleeping in his recliner for a couple of hours in the wee hours of the morning, that feat was awesome in itself. He walked again today, so hope his new sleeping habit will continue. His eating has changed also, so that left me out "in the cold", so I told him that I was going to start cooking every night and he could eat if he wanted or not, that I was tired of bringing food in, eating sandwiches, that I wanted to cook, which is what I have done the last two nights, and he got himself a plate and ate along with me. Next Xofigo is scheduled for September 25th, then October 23, etc. It seems to have really, really yelped with his pain issues.

He's been depressed also, but will not take any medication, has all kinds of excuses, so I can't help him and just try to stay out of the way. I usually don't say anything correct during those times and an argument pursues. It's a "loose/loose situation, but "this to will pass". and it does, eventually.

I just sent Rob an e-mail message.....we have chatted that way a couple of times....worried about him as well. No postings since 09/13/2014.

I think this last treatment that he has been on, was a "killer".......he might not have been strong enough to handle it......

My husband will have his 2nd Xofigo/Radium223 on Thursday. Just had labs completed, his levels all look good. He also gained 1.8 pounds.......after losing for so many weeks.

Started out with PSA of 132, today's results were 112.....dropping of 20 points. Surprised because we were told that it should "spike". His pain has almost diminished, still taking lortab (as a preventive), better to not have the pain, instead of getting it and having to handle that and wait for the medication to take effect. Fatigue is still high and by early afternoon, he is usually pretty well "spent". Has been very irritable to me and says that I am nagging him to much, asking him to many questions, (did you take your pills, did you drink an Ensure, did you go walk), so I am trying to keep a "low profile". I believe that he needs to "do more" for himself, so I am not "dotting" over him as much. He needs to exercise by getting "things" for himself, if he isn't going to exercise (like walking).

Hi everyone. I found you here through remembering my father loved posting here so much. Unfortunately, Rob (Gizzy'n me) has passed away. He died on Saturday (9/20) after a long battle with prostate cancer.

I've written his obituary, if you'd like to send your condolences. I know he came to these threads for daily therapy, and I really appreciate everyone here.

Oh, dear, I was afraid this would be the outcome of Rob's hospitalization. Amber, than you. I'm so sorry your father has died. I read the obituary and realized he was a fascinating man with many interests. On the forum, we often just get a one sided view of a person and don't realize that their life was many faceted.
I think some of the women here were especially concerned with Rob because he lived alone and had to deal with all his drug side effects and disease progressions by himself. Such a hard thing to watch.
Thank you for letting us know. The not knowing was worrying. The knowing is sad.
