I gave blood today for a battery of tests required for exit from the S1216 Clinical Trial.
My PSA today was 9.9. That is DOWN from 11.97 two months ago. For the last two months I have been on Lupron only.
I will certainly be talking with him about
some follow-up PSA monitoring over the next few months. I am due for my next Lupron injection in November.
In the meantime I plan to have another C11 scan done before the end of the year and before I make any decisions about
what new and wonderful drugs I want to let them start injecting me with. I had a C11 done in January and I want to see if there was any change or resolution to the nodes that were found then.
As always I plan to have all of the info I can before I make the next decision or changes.
Don't know how most of you will read this news, but for me, having my PSA drop 20% in two months on just Lupron is good news in my book.
I would call this a "Bonus Day" for sure.

Sonny-
I'm sorry the TAK-700 didn't work for you. So your PSA was going up while taking TAK-700, but it went down on withdrawal? It sounds like the cancer figured out how to feed on it.

Allen, as always, thanks for your input. But I must admit to it being a little over my head. I tried to call you and left a message. Please give me a call, I have a few things I would like to discuss with you.
Jerry, thanks brother. My wife and I are doing something just short of happy dances about
the results.

Sonny, all things considered in your unique PC journey, I view that decrease as a positive thing, and helps to buy you more time to plan out your next move in the battle.
Continual good luck to you.

Sounds good.
So you were on the trial on the TAK700 arm and got out recently - my husband just got in, on the control arm. Kind of symmetric. Not sure what if anything being in the control group gets him. I suppose contributing to knowledge is useful.

Allen and Ms Wampuscat, thank you both for the valuable information you provided here and via emails and phone calls today.
Today I reached out to the NIH via phone calls and emails. I did talk with someone there and I might have a good shot at getting into the Pilot Study you referred. I should know more on Monday and will of course report back.
I am taking the info on the Study to my Onco for tomorrows meeting. I will report back on the appt in a new thread.
Thanks again folks. This is yet another example of the absolute value of this site and the caring and supportive nature of the members.

Good news Sonny, of course GFMPH Cajun food was adjuvant to the Lupron. Are you discounting the potential effect?? I agree the decline is good news.

Good Onco visit and we have a plan. Having outdoor lunch with my wife and will post about
the visit when I get back home.
Another "Bonus Day" in Florida.
