Just checking in on the chance you posted. I had to be in at 5 A.M., but I was texting relatives mid afternoon after my extended procedure, so I'm glad to see I'm not the only one! That belly button site is the worst, hurt like hell for a couple days for me anyway. They had me on liquids only for the remainder of the day following surgery, so if you're like me, you will certainly be ready for breakfast tomorrow.
Good to hear you're feeling pretty good, that's about
the best you can hope for IMO. Hope you get at least some rest between visits tonight!
Keep us posted!

Welcome to the other side, of recovery!
You'll be chasing the nurses around the nurses station in no time.

Wade,
Welcome ....make yourself comfortable, strap the catheter real tight - the less it moves the better. Take it easy. Take the stool softener and drink lots of water. I went to my local supermarket and bought a 'slab' of 24 x 500ml of distilled water (my 6-8 day supply). Don’t strain in the loo! Remember you just had major surgery.
take care!

welcome to the other side. Your next big milestone...a bowel movement. I couldn't go home until I had one and was never so happy when I did because I had to stay an extra day. And don't you just love the catheter! Good luck on the healing and hope all continues to go well.

" I am on the mend and nothing will slow me down" Perfect, keep the positive mental attitude, this week is the roughest, it will get better in just a few days. Rest, Walk and Water are all important now. Keep the catheter clean and lubed and protect it from tugs and taps. In a week or so it will get removed and then you will feel so much better. Getting the catheter removed feels like getting the abdominal drain removed, wierd but not painful.
Take care and looking forward to hearing about
a good path report

Went for a 0.5 km walk yesterday. It felt good and i managed to sleep in my bed with my wife last night. If i didnt have the catheter i would pretty much feel the same as before the surgery. 7 more days and the catheter comes out

Cather out is the next milestone. It will be a huge relief.
Keep resting and walking, you're doing good.
