Here's an abstract from a study that MD Anderson did ten years ago:
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23924676They found that Alprostadil was the least stable of the three compounds used in trimix, losing 8 percent of its effectiveness over five days at "room temperature". This figure should be reassuring for those who are worried about
how long the vial is out of the fridge while they draw their shot, or even for those men who are concerned about
the filled syringe sitting there in the toothbrush holder during the several hours of begging and pleading that passes for foreplay sometimes. An unrefrigerated hour now and then doesn't make a big difference.
I also found
this from a compounding pharmacy. Their writeup on trimix says, in part...
If kept under refrigeration, the amounts we dispense are easily used up before they lose potency. It is important to note that improper storage does not result in harmful chemicals in the preparation. The only thing to suffer is the potency – the preparation may not be as strong as when fresh.... which is also reassuring.
But if you do the math, after six months at room temperature only 5 percent of the original alprostadil still remains. Since alprostadil is the drug that does the heavy lifting in the mix, after six months you might as well be injecting water... which you might try, by the way. It's a lot cheaper.
Trimix is a wonder drug for healing a man's confidence when it fails him. As his confidence returns he needs less and less of the drug. You might be cured.
