Trimix Compound

I have a question about the strength (read percent) of the compounds in Trimix. My Uro prescribed 8.33 8.33 and 22.5 for my Trimix. It would seem that this is somewhat weaker than the "typical" mix. Would a stronger mix result in less compound needed per injection?

We had a thread about the various strengths of Trimix a while back. Jeff (Worried Guy) put together this table:

Right offhand I can't seem to fit your numbers into this table.  Do you know which number coresponds to which drugs and the units for each?  Papavarine and Phentolamine are usually written in mg/mL while Alprostadil is written in ug/mL (nanograms per milliliter). 

That makes it somewhere around 1.5 times as strong as "Trimix Single" aka. "watery starter mix". For the most part you look at the amount of PGE-1 (Alprostadil).

in a 11.5ml vail.

I use syringes with 31 gauge 8mm needles that hold 50 units (.5 ml). I find that (insulin) "units" is a convenient measure for trimix because ml markings would always be fractional and "µl" (microliters) are too small and are tiresome to type.

And in answer to your question, yes, a stronger mix lets you inject less. The stronger mixes are often more expensive per vial but less expensive per dose. The only reasons not to use absurdly strong mixes are 1) the stuff is only guaranteed good for a month and a 5ml bottle will last a long time at 5 units a pop, and 2) if 4 units is good but 5 is too much then an unsteady hand or a small air bubble can make a difference that would send some men to the ER.

Hi all. Well as luck would have it I found BD 30g 1/2 inch 1 mil insulin syringes at Sam's club tonight! They were $.25/each which is easy to take in the grand scheme of things. I had my Uro write a script so no tax. Now I just need to fine tune my dose for max effect! ;-)
