"Meralgia paresthetica is a condition characterized by tingling, numbness and burning pain in your outer thigh. The cause of meralgia paresthetica is compression of the nerve that supplies sensation to the skin surface of your thigh."www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/meralgia-paresthetica/basics/definition/CON-20030852I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this.
I have for many years on my right leg... Usually the dentist chair is a place where my right thigh would go numb.
Recently, my left thigh is getting the burning pain while sitting in my recliner. From what I've read,it usually only happens to one leg?!?!?
QUESTION: What type of doc would I go to, to have this checked out... My GP is a referral maniac and I'm thinking I might as well bypass him if possible.
Also from what I've read, losing some weight will probably be very helpful... I've added almost ten pounds to my already too much weight... I'm 5'11" and am up to 220lbs.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
