From one aging Prof to another:
Welcome to the club nobody wants to join.
Your life has now changed forever. But, right now it will seem like an exhausting sprint. But you will soon discover it is instead a marathon (but also tiresome). Basically, that's good news. You will have plenty of time to carefully weigh decisions and txs. Your first order of business should be to get a second opinion on the biopsy slides. Epstein at Hopkins is great and he will even discuss the results with you. Check it out. It is not hard to do.
Then do the MRI and then research various txs. Lots of pros and cons with all of them.
Good luck and keep us informed. HW is great for obtaining knowledge and getting support
