Robotic Prostatectomy surgeons in Atlanta

I have been recommended to Dr John Pattaras in Atlanta, for a robotic prostatectomy. Anyone have experience of him?

I found that if you go to a nationally ranked hospital for Urology you'll find the best surgeons. Don't limit yourself geographically. But I'm sure Atlanta has plenty.

Don't know about the Dr. But I can recommend Emory which is where I had my open. They didn't offer robotic in 2006. They have a ward floor and nurses dedicated to just Urology patients and are very good at taking care of prostate patients as they do it every day. And Emory is one of the cancer centers recognized by the NCI.

I see my uro for my quarterly checkup and PSA test tomorrow. He does open, but I will ask him about robotic surgeons. He practices with another uro that has done thousands of robotic proceduresand I will get his name for you.

I studied up on those guys and he's supposed to be very good. He started the robotic surgery center at Emory 15 years ago, and is now the director.

My RO said he, and the others there, are excellent surgeons. A lot of them were trained at John Hopkins, UUCLA, etc.
