Is your prostate, really big, it is commonly measured at the biopsy. Its also possible that you could also have an infection. Not sugarcoating it , laying some hope out there that it could be contained in the capsule or offer a negative margin scenario in surgery. An infection and over large prostate would add psa to an otherwise lower psa score, hence mitigating the possible spread. Having said all that the gl score begs for treatment. Good luck!
Hey logos - just to be clear, to me it's not his PSA that's concerning for lack of organ confinement. It's this from the biopsy report:
2. Prostate, left, needle biopsies:
ADENOCARCINOMA, GLEASON SCORE 9 (4+5)
8 OF 8 TISSUE CORES, 96% OF THE VOLUME OF THE
TISSUE, AND 86 OF 90 LINEAR MILLIMETERS OF CORE
BIOPSY TISSUE ARE INVOLVED BY ADENOCARCINOMA.Those are very high involvement scores in the biopsies, indicating a lot of the tissue is involved. Seems it could have gotten beyond the surface, depending on just where those cores were taken of course.
