Dating Advice ?

I totally AGREE a SUPERB topic...... For us single (straight and gay) guys in their 40s/ 50's and up who are perhaps (like myself) facing this alone --without family, a few friends (cant burden them endlessly) and the deal is ----it is what it is, and we take as much information as we can in, and we make our decisions--which may change constantly.......... maybe there will --maybe their wont ---be someone who will accept this aspect of my life.... i wasn't given a choice..

I will just try my best..... we will all just try our best! With or with out a special someone else ...there is always a place for each of us in the bigger wider world. Fight the good fight with self compassion, knowledge and awareness and attention to each moment. Live Life inside of the best sense of self that you possibly can... for yourself and others. Love always shines the brightest and others hopefully will see that in you, in each of us as we deal.

Nobody has touched on the erection issue.
If you cant get an erection then that will have to be spoken about sooner or later with a new mate.
I'd started the relationship I'm currently in about a year before my ralp and subsequent loss of potency.
Lucky she's stuck with me 5 years on from that but if I was single now and in the same position I wouldn't even bother dating because it wouldn't be going anywhere in a sexual sense.

Thank you for your responses and thoughts in this area. After a bad marriage and waiting (and wading) through the Catholic process of determining if the marriage was sacramental and valid (it was not and I am free to marry in the Church as a sacrament); I was starting to date some. And then I had my diagnosis and went down the path of RALP, along with my recovery, still in progress, I am optimistic that my UI will not be a big issue and waiting some more time post-op to see if ED is an issue (good indications so far).

So, this puts me back in the dating pool in a month or two.

The discussions of how to discuss PC with a person you are dating has been very interesting and inspiring for me. I guess my thoughts are that within 2-3 dates, if there is chemistry forming and a possibility that a relationship might form, then is the time to tell the story. Before anyone falls in love and certainly before any sex happens, then this information is ethical to share.

A couple of guys have mentioned injecting themselves in secret while they are in the shower and coming out of the bathroom with a "personal towel rack" that they explained away as getting excited just thinking about her. The women are impressed.

(I'm not suggesting this. I am just stating what others have done.)
