One of our more prolific posters -- todd1963 -- was diagnosed in 2006, stage 4 with a PSA of over 3200 and lymph, lung and bone metastases. He was given a very short time by his doctor. Since then Todd has gone through a lot of different treatments and, today, his PSA is undetectable and he is doing fine. He was a Gleason 7 but we do have Gleason 9 guys diagnosed with PSAs in the hundreds who are doing OK years later.
Here is a link to
Todd's latest thread. I am afraid you will find him kind of stressed out... because of worries about
his job and his insurance... not because of his cancer.
Your husband has just started his treatments. There are no guarantees but lots of guys have gotten great results from the new HT/Chemo combinations.
