My guess would be that five Years means a person is a little less likely to have a recurrence then someone this only five Months out.

I'm almost seven years out and still sweet out PSA tests smhair

It means enjoy life and forget about past. Just a half yearly psa.

That is standard definition of "cured" to the medical community.

It also means it's time to throw a serious party.

since any of us can recur at anytime regardless of how long we are undectectable.....to me it means absolutely nothing.

Chris' comment is not without merit. That which does not kill us will try again tomorrow. BUT - five years undetectable can mean they gave up on you and moved on.

Be happy, and I'll cheer for another five!

Look at it this way. The longer you go without a recurrence the less time you have left to worry about a recurrence. smilewinkgrin
