I feel very lucky that recovery has gone well. I had nerve sparing RRP at Northwestern in oct 2014. Erections and orgasm came 3 days after catheter. I went on daily Cialis a week later and continued to have regular erections. about a month ago I stopped the Cialis and all continues to work. I had rough incontinence but I'm down to stress dripping and still need a pad everyday.

How did I get lucky? I don't know! All I can tell you is my story and you can add it to the test result database. I never had prior ED issues. I live a fairly active life exercising occasionally and not overweight. Leading up to surgery I picked up the exercise routine intensity and added lots of kegels. Afterwards I was really worried about what would happen so I tested it out early on my own. As someone else said, my theory was to use it so I didn't lose it. I'm not embarrassed to use a little "visual stimulation" and I think it helps to get your mind in the right spot. There are some little differences but for the most part it's all come back I know am very lucky but want people to hear a positive story too.

I started Cialis after the catheter came out. For three months--nothing. Sex was like trying to shoot pool with a rope. For the next three months or so I combined the Cialis with a pump and could get but not keep an erection. At about month 8 with the help of Cialis and gravity I was able to achieve an erection good enough for "normal" relations. At almost exactly one year, it was like someone flipped a switch and I was pretty much back to pre-surgery days with no meds. It took time, but I made it back.

For my Bf, at 6 weeks with Levitra, 30%, used pill, pump and ring until 4 months, started using injections. At about 10 months intercourse possible with just a pill (Viagra), but erection not as hard as with injection. 13 months post surgery decided the pill worked well enough to stop using injections. Now 15 months post surgery, pill seems to work as well as injections. Erections without pill, about 75%, almost good enough for intercourse. If pills aren't getting it, I highly recommend injections. I believe it helped the recovery.

My experience was similar to MK2.0. Very soon after the catheter came out I was getting erections. I started daily Cialis 5MG 2 days after cath removal. After getting erections for a week, I tried skipping two days of Ciais and to my amazement, I was able to get erections just as easily.
But I was very sensitive down there and was afraid to use it for a while. I waited till my six week checkup with the surgeon, and was told definitively to start having sex. So I did, with no problem.

As MK said, I was very lucky. I think the moral of the story tho is that everyone is different. Don't create expectations for yourself based on experiences of others. Jus knwo it will come back, maybe and ewj months maybe a year or more, but it will, don't put pressure on yourself it won't help matters.
