You might as well get used to the leaking, it will be with you for awhile. Hopefully you will start drying up within the next 2 months. Unfortunately for me it took another surgery to stop my incontinence after 22 months of leaking. But I was one of the 5% that didn't get dry.

Most of us use a Depends brief then add a Depends pad inside. The brief will catch any over flow and you can dispose of a pad easily and quicker.

I used to put the pads in sandwich bags then when I went into the restroom to change pads, I would put the old one in the sandwich bag, seal it closed and through it in the garbage to avoid any odor.

Give up the light colored pants for awhile, accidents happen, especially later in the afternoon when you body tires.

Watch what you eat and drink, no spicy foods, citrus drinks, caffeine, etc, you may have heard all that already.

Be patient, time heals all wounds as they say.

Thanks guy's, this all helps, I thought that the catheter was bad but the leakage has already started to really bother me. This was my real first day of walking and was leaking on every step, but not while sitting. Will this get better this week? As I said, I am a building inspector and move around quite a bit. Maybe some depends for a while?

I had to buy some depends today because I was leaking so much today even before leaving my office. As I have been reading some of the posts here this evening I have become somewhat depressed. Some say they are dry after a few short weeks, some say they have leaked for many months. Actually, for me, this is the worst part. I can get by with no erections and have a loving and caring wife of 33 years who understands that this surgery needed to be done so I could live longer. This leaking is really getting the better of me and this is why I am depressed today. I am on my second day back to work (Building Inspector) and just couldn't wait to get back in my recliner because the leaking is less sporadic. I have not put in my profile yet but will do so this weekend. Robotic surgery on 2/23/15 and last biopsy was in November which was a 7 with 4+3 and a PSA which was 7.2. The surgeon said that if I had waited six more months for the surgery that it would have been to late to do anything. I was on AS for over a year because all of my numbers were low. The surgeon was very surprised to find the prostate with cancer over half of it. No one knew how bad it was because the biopsy and PSA were not high at all. Just needed someplace to vent this evening and I see you have been here awhile and have some good things to say. I hope this leaking stops soon. Thanks!

HimI, the day my catheter came out, I sat in a chair, wearing a pair of sweat pants, and a depends, in the doctors office. I had to change the pad after about an hour. When I got up at one point, without even realizing I was leaking, I looked at the chair, and then felt my sweatpants. Both were soaked.
This went on, although gradually improved somewhat over the next week. 2 weeks later I went from one pad a day to a thin shield. 2 weeks after that, I wasn't and am still not , wearing anything.

It will get better. Keep doing your Kegels, according to your doctors instructions. But don't overdo it, the muscle can get tired.

You are not even three weeks out of surgery, it's way too early to get depressed. It will get better.
Do your Kegels.
Stay away from caffeine and alcohol.
Talk to your doc about biofeedback at your next visit.
It will improve. Keep us posted

I definitely feel that the leaking is nothing that it was this past Sunday but it is still there. I think that each day gets better and at least I no longer have the infected prostate. I know this will slow down and hopefully go away altogether some day. Going on my third week post op on Monday and will stay connected to let you know of my progress.

I was home for 2 weeks after catheter removal before I went back to work. I found I was mostly dry during those two weeks, and experimented with how much and what kinds of fluids caused issues. Today was my 3rd day back at work, and it's getting better. The first day, I think I felt leaks at least a dozen times during the work day.

I'm fortunate in that I'm just losing a drop or two each time I get up, or climb some stairs or whatever. I'm not in a full 'can't hold it at all' state.

As I've said before, what I do notice is that the time lag between "I think I need to go soon" and "I've got to go NOW" is about 10 minutes or less.

Prato, that is similar to my experience. I think it has something to do with general fatigue. For me, there also seems to be something about office furniture that affects me differently than the furniture at home. At work, I have to work hard to not drip when I stand up from my desk chair...and rarely at home when I stand up from the recliner.

Thank you to everyone for your help and encouragement. I am in and out of my vehicle all through the day, as I am a building inspector so that is the nature of my work. I just drink one small cup of coffee in the morning and nothing else throughout the day but have been leaking like crazy all week. Not when sitting, only when I stand up and start walking. Should I not drink the cup of coffee? Will my leaking cease up a little? I will be happy to say that I am only having a few drips here and there. Hopefully next week will be better. Again, thank you all!
